“Blue Magic” trailer (only a Hov song would have a trailer)
Posted by Miss Info under Uncategorized[26] Comments
My boy Rik Cordero directed a new video, well, its sort of a video, more like a pre-video, for Jay-Z’s “Blue Magic” single, featuring cameos from Enuff and Clue. And hopefully this means the homie will be shooting something for “American Gangster” if the suits know what’s good for them.
But tonite, Jay-Z and Pharrell were in Chelsea shooting the main video for “Blue Magic,” with, who else, Hype Williams. Remember when directors would shoot a video and it would be out 2-3 months later? This joint better be up on youtube within two weeks, or else some savvy hip hop nerd will just animate their own clip send it to Crunktastical : )

I put this on my podcast site…and of course i did a special Real Jay-Z heads mix….man, i love this guy.
September 22nd, 2007 at 2:30 pm
This is very interesting to me not so much that Jay-Z is doing this but that I thought T.I would have jumped all over an American Gangster Album….A)Since he’s in the damn movie and B)That whole split persona,T.I vs T.I.P thing seems to be less then successful.
But hey perhaps we’re seeing a steady return to real substantial hip hop again.Common and Kanye dropped great music. Now we hear Jay, Nas and Wu Tang have work soon coming. If we can get an Andre 3000 solo I’ll be str8.

YEAH NOW KIDS CAN SAY SELLIN DRUGS IS COOL! THANKS JAY Z!
September 22nd, 2007 at 6:02 pm
@ #3…..
what u think ppl dat listen to Kanye, Common, or Mos Def albums don’t sell drugs…haaaaaardy har…ur sadly mistaken chief..,..newsflash….u dont start selling drugs cause Jay sold em….u sell drugs for a number of different reasons…
Superhead can release a book talking about her past and get on Oprah, but Jay can’t make songs about his past??? How come ppl dont pay attention to all the charities this guy has given to and helping kids in africa get water…
I dont see it as glorifying…i see it as realizing that negative things are a part of even the most positive ppl and u gotta take the good with the bad.
September 22nd, 2007 at 7:18 pm
So the Camel swagger jacked the idea of having a trailer for a music video from Kanye (Touch The Sky). Disgusting.
September 22nd, 2007 at 10:21 pm
yo miss info, whats up with that “I get money” remix video??? JAY-Z was talking to clue and he said he aint doing it… you heard anything???
September 22nd, 2007 at 10:24 pm
number 3…hop off.smart kids never thought that and dumb kids that think that are…well dumb.tell you what i’m sick of watching little kids hopping around like a bunch of retarded horses dancing to aunt jackie and soldja boy.not to mention chicken noodle soup.that was the worst.
hov’s gonna make it hot,and you better watch your kids since they are so concerned with drug rap.thats why they have that little parental advisory sticker on the bottom of the cd cover.

@hiphopisdead I am sorry but you sound just like the white people that put hip hop on blast and say negative comments. I am a Jay fan but even more a fan of education and to my knowledge I never heard Jay say selling drugs is cool. All he is doing is telling what he had to do to get by. If a kid watches this and feels that selling drugs is cool then lets be honest they were bound to sell drugs. (i just call a spade a spade thats just what it is) Look I am from South Side Queens and there are a lot of drug dealers out there for kids to look up to and say thats who they want to be like. Come on people please don’t be like the media that tries to bad mouth Hip hop with poeple like you HIP HOP WILL BE DEAD!!

Lol at 3
September 23rd, 2007 at 3:53 am
anyway to all u morons who didnt like my comment…..
first off buddy@ Lee
I am black, live in the hood, and have sold drugs myself. Now, I am not sayin that to get props …because i really dont deserve it. Jay is full of shit and so are u. I respect the guy and i dont know u. But hes full of shit. Jay and most other rappers(and probably u) DO think its cool to hustle drugs.Hiphop should be put on blast. I dont care about white people cus they cant speak on shit like this..but we can. We need to stop makin excuses for hiphop and keep the rap cleaner. Yes I said cleaner. Now adults like hiphop too so we can have some reckless hiphop,we can have some street music, but this music is marketed to kids (and if u say it aint u lyin) and believe it or not music has a PROFOUND influence on our people, esp. young people…smart or dumb(@RENT) so rappers need to be held accountable. This is my opinion. 70% of black youths are in single family homes, almost 90% of the foster care system are africanamerican youths, it goes on and on..so STOP SAYIN THE PARENTS GOTTA DO A BETTER JOB OF RAISING THEIR KIDS..of course they should but the rappers are who these kids look up to and they should set a better example. Thats not excuses thats real. Master P has the right idea and hes lived that life too. Somebody thats been thru it should know better. U dont come out of jail and then tell people “yeah I did this and I’m that…” no a real dude that cares about his community and uses his power right says ” Yo I did this and look I wasted my life and u could do something better like ____” – Is Jay sayin that? No..and hes an artist he can have creative freedom but I have my freedom of opinion. WE DONT NEED AN OVERDOSE OF MORE DRUG RAP THAT SHIT IS PLAYED OUT,NEGATIVE AND DOESNT HELP THE COMMUNITY. Stop defendin these fake ass clowns man. DOnt get me wrong, I want to see my people eat and make money. Believe dat. I’m happy Jay and others get money. Its hard coming up but we even got people in other countries (and other races here) sayin “Whatup NIGGA”. We gotta represent ourselves better than this. Have some self respect. They full of shit, they rhyme about hustlin crack and bustin guns and then go hide in they mansion while niggas who really do that shit go to prison, missin out on they life. Thats not cool…I suppose skateboard P’s livin like that too right? Get the fuck outta here
p.s – no disrespect to other races but I’m just speakin for my people. These rappers is mostly black so they’re role models for black kids (even though they wont step up to the plate and the mentality is fuck your kids jus buy my shit)…Am I Lyin? And dont get all fired up its just a debate. Thanks for the platform Info

September 23rd, 2007 at 2:11 pm
Blue magic is boring and pharell sounds so anoying on the hook.
September 23rd, 2007 at 9:09 pm
@ comment 10….
There were single parent households, drugs, and crime b4 Hip Hop was even invented. Are u gonna blame Soul music for these issues going on in the 60’s and 70’s?….
I see where ur coming from, but just because there are lazy parents out there, I don’t feel ppl should be trying to censor artist at all.
When I’m in my car and I’m blasting 50’s music with the windows down and I stop at a light and their are little kids or old ppl on the corner I TURN IT DOWN. Thats because I’m a responsible adult. Adults need to be examples to their kids because kids only see rappers on tv and videos…but they see regular real life adults everyday.
If we start “cleaning up rap” whats next we’re gonna start “cleaning up” fashion, literature, movies. Pretty soon you won’t be able to dress, speak, think, or talk freely because ppl are pushing censorship. It goes much deeper than rap music. But Rap is always the scapegoat for things that need to be cleaned up.
How come no1 ever asks HUGH HEFNER to “clean up” his magazine? How come no1 ever asks Arnold Schwartzeneger (spelling?) to “clean up” his ultra violent movies?
It doesnt matter if u sold drugs or not and I dont think any1 in here really cares….cause if u really were a d boy u know the only ppl that need to know that ur involved in drugs are buyers and suppliers…not BLOGGERS.
September 24th, 2007 at 12:56 pm
LOL SPEAKIN IN DA SUBJECT OF JAY Z HAS ANYBODY SEEN THAT LAME ASS VIDEO AN SONG BY PEEDI CRACK AN JAZZY JEFF, DAMN WHAT WAS THIS NIGGA SMOKIN ???NEXT TO JAY AN SIEGEL AN FREEWAY HE HAD DA HARDEST BARS AN METAPHORS HE FELL OFF AN JAY IS MAKIN HIM SAY HIS NAME IS PEDI PEEDI WHAT THE FUCK MAN . NOW AL;L I SEE IS SELL OUT AN SIEGEL IS LIKE DA LAST OF DA MOHECANS AMONGST THOSE BITCHES
September 24th, 2007 at 2:06 pm
@ hiphopisdead…wat kinda drugs u sold?
Are you one of those ppl who knocked on his Kingdom Come album? Alot of ppl hated that album simply because 90% of what he’s sayin on that album was too complicated for the average listener…now don’t knock a person for being creative cuz the album is not being marketed as a radio friendly album, music though influencial should no be scrutinized as the only negative influence cause music is the only reflection we have of the real world.
But i respect your opinion, but I don’t totally agree.
P.S. cut the bullshit, “ive in the hood, and have sold drugs myself” ……please!!!
September 24th, 2007 at 3:03 pm
@comment 15 I can’t agree with you more. You hit the nail on the head. I am also a responsible adult. Censorship is geting out of hand. but you know what finger pointing is getting out of hand even more. This country is at a point where no one wants to take responsiblity for what they did. And when people start saying “oh its hip hop and their artist that are to blame for our youth acting the way they do”. Don’t get me wrong when I drive down the streets in South Side Queens I see how the teens and younger Adults act when songs are blasting but I also see how young teens/adults act when a known drug dealer comes rolling up with a benz with rims and a system. Guess who they want to be like more that rapper that they can’t physically see or that Drug dealer thats in their neighborhood??? We as positive black males should take a stand and show the younger people that you can be rich the right way.QUEENS STAND UP!!!
September 24th, 2007 at 6:59 pm
@ COMMENT 13.I DISAGREE THAT THE SONG IS WACK.IT’S SOMETHING DIFFERENT,JUST LET IT MERINATE A COUPLE MORE TIMES.AND HIP HOP NEEDS HIM JUST LIKE THEY NEED NAS AND EMINEM.SO THERE WILL BE VARIETY OF CDS OUT NOT JUST THE SAME THING FROM EVERYONE.
BUT I AGREE THAT THE HOOK OF THE SONG IS A LITTLE 50ISH.I WONDER IF HE DID THAT BEFORE OR AFTER I GET MONEY CAME OUT?
September 24th, 2007 at 7:50 pm
Lets address Circus (an appropiate name)
“There were single parent households, drugs, and crime b4 Hip Hop was even invented. Are u gonna blame Soul music for these issues going on in the 60’s and 70’s?….”
– First of all I’m not blaming hiphop..hiphop is good jus stop sayin nigga, bitch,ho and deragotary lyrics so musch, thats all. I’m not sayin they have to rhyme about lollipos and skittles but listen to Rakim, listen to Krs or any other hiphop artist before it went commercial. Did soul music promote or use negativity? That was a stupid comment
“I see where ur coming from, but just because there are lazy parents out there, I don’t feel ppl should be trying to censor artist at all. When I’m in my car and I’m blasting 50’s music with the windows down and I stop at a light and their are little kids or old ppl on the corner I TURN IT DOWN. Thats because I’m a responsible adult. Adults need to be examples to their kids because kids only see rappers on tv and videos…but they see regular real life adults everyday.”
– Thats nice but u missed my point. These artists are from the hood(supposedly) and thats their primary audience, thats who see what they’re talkin about. A lot of those kids have no parents, single parents or parents that work constantly. I never said lazy. They look out for their kids. But why cant a rapper be a responsible adult? Why cant he “turn it down” a little. I’m not sayin they cant rap about whatever jus tone it down a little , for the kids. Whats so bad about that?
“It doesnt matter if u sold drugs or not and I dont think any1 in here really cares….cause if u really were a d boy u know the only ppl that need to know that ur involved in drugs are buyers and suppliers…not BLOGGERS.”
– I know that but people said I was probably white, I was just makin a point…u dumb ass
“How come no1 ever asks HUGH HEFNER to “clean up” his magazine? How come no1 ever asks Arnold Schwartzeneger (spelling?) to “clean up” his ultra violent movies?”
– Cus his magazine is marketed toward adults. These movies are practically in the same boat..shit even cartoons are voilent. U laugh but that affects kids too. I’m not blamin rap for everything..ALL I’M SAYIN IS EASE UP ON THE B.S AND NEGATIVITY THATS ALL..u dumb muthaf*kas. It aint got to be squeaky clean. Alright, heres some homework- What are the top 10 songs on 106 and park (A KIDS SHOW!) and what are they singin in the lyrics? Cus these kids know every word. What are the songs on hot97 in the daytime after school (not to mention the mornin show crap that they listen to in the morning – I wont even go there..they say bitch every two mins…f’in coons) ? Forget what they bleep out. What is the song about?
September 25th, 2007 at 12:07 am
Son “hiphopisdead” you need to stop blaming hip hop for the violence around us… the world is messed up period, take it from me i’m from a third world country. Remember this nobody is perfect…
September 25th, 2007 at 12:35 am
@ circus-I couldnt said it better
September 25th, 2007 at 5:37 am
i don’t think raising the level of consciousness in hip hop is asking too much. i have to agree with hiphop on a lot of points.
September 25th, 2007 at 7:02 am
ok HIPHOPISDEAD (long ass term paper aka comment 19)….so the whole world should only use words that YOU feel are appropriate???….Imma just get straight to it.
Circus (name chosen cause a lot of times sh*t going on in music & the gov’t feels like a circus to me).
You want every1 to walk around using UNOFFENSIVE words….guess what….it can be a vey offensive world we live in Mr. Rogers. Sometimes ppl have to vent their frustration and muthaf*ckin sets a tone of anger a little better that mother-fudge-sickle….or whateva other goofy ass word u want us to use.
U like Rakim, KRS, etc….so that means every rapper should sound like them for the rest of time….dats stupid. The fact that rap keeps evolving is what makes it the ONLY music that really speaks to the intended audience. Its not perfect but nothing is. No1 is asking rock musicians to clean up their lyrics.
If u dont like what YOU hear DONT PURCHASE IT….Don’t try to censor what u dont like because what would u do if the powers that be decided to outlaw/censor ur beloved KRS or Rakim and made it illegal to purchase their music??? Im sure president Bush is not a huge KRS or Rakim fan.
U think playboy magazines & violent movies aren’t as geared toward children/teenagers as adults….ur crazy.
I just wanna know what it feels like on your okie dokie version of earth where RAP is to blame for every negative issue facing minority communities.
U sound like a bitter OLD HEAD whose past his prime and complaining about how all these “rappers” are ruining music…..the same way my 92 yr old grandma thought James Brown & Elvis were offensive and “ruining music”
U claim I’m missin ur point but it’s cause u can’t get ur head out of ur own ass (pause)….I DON’T like soulja Boy, and all the rest of that sh*t…but guess what? It’s NOT MY RIGHT to tell him what he can and can’t rap about, or what language to use. I don’t buy his albums, when his songs come on I change the radio station/TV, but i would neva ask him to censor himself.
Freedom of speech is kind of a cornerstone of western civilization. Stop bitchin about lyrics and read something called the constitution and u might learn something.
My moms had 2 jobs (Damn near 16 hours a day) when I was a kid and she still knew what I was watching & listening to….so if parents stopped being lazy and raised their own kids, they wouldn’t try to blame ENTERTAINERS.
September 25th, 2007 at 7:15 am
and I 4got…..any jerk off who says “they sold drugs” as a way to prove he’s black and from “the hood” is a complete d*ckhead….these are your words right here homes:
hiphopisdead: I am black, live in the hood, and have sold drugs myself. Now, I am not sayin that to get props …because i really dont deserve it.
Circus: It doesnt matter if u sold drugs or not and I dont think any1 in here really cares….cause if u really were a d boy u know the only ppl that need to know that ur involved in drugs are buyers and suppliers…not BLOGGERS.
hiphopisdead: I know that but people said I was probably white, I was just makin a point.
What a dipsh*t.

@lonie…I understand what u saying we need variety but I personally think the song is lame.I have very high expectations of j just like I have high expectations of 50.fif came thru but j shit getting weaker & wacker.since unretiring j hasn’t put out nothing good & i’m very disappointed bcause he’s 1 of the few I look 2 4 great music.he did that lame hook after 50 I get money.I only hope the rest of the album is gr8 bcause rap does need him desparately but not with that weak shit.peace ma.
