The music world is still in mourning and reeling after Mac Miller’s sudden death, due to a reported drug overdose exactly one week ago today (Sept. 14). One person who has kept silent and has been grieving privately is Ariana Grande, Miller’s ex-girlfriend. The pair had been dating for two years until the couple ended their relationship earlier this year. Its was reported at the time that one of the reasons the relationship ended was due to Miller’s addiction issues. Now a week later, Grande has dedicated an emotional post to her ex-boyfriend.

“i adored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and i always will. i can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. i really can’t wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times. i’m so mad, i’m so sad i don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long,” said the singer. “above anything else. i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. i hope you’re okay now. rest.”
