Following previews, here is the official trailer to the upcoming Jimi Hendrix biopic Jimi: All Is By My Side. Starring OutKast’s André “André 3000” Benjamin, the film directed by Academy Award-winning writer-director John Ridley (12 Years a Slave) covers the life of Hendrix from 1966-67, coming up as an unknown musician playing New York’s Cheetah Club to landing overseas in London.

Due to the rights of Jimi’s music never being cleared, the film only covers a short period during the rock legend’s life. Watch the official trailer below before the full movie hits theatres on September 26.
