The 2014 XXL Freshmen class could have been at least 50 percent Chicago, and although he missed the cut this year, Alex Wiley is setting himself up nicely for a spot in 2015. Fresh off announcing a string of tour dates with Brooklyn’s own Nitty Scott, the rising Windy City rapper pairs his recently-released trunk-rattler “OVA” with some summery visuals straight from the West Coast. Peep those understated dance moves, too.

“OVA” is taken from Alex Wiley’s upcoming Village Party mixtape (out June 5), which will also include the Mick Jenkins-assisted “Own Man” and “Vibration” (which is pure, unfiltered fire — listen below).
