The numbers are in. A Tribe Called Quest’s new album and first in 18 years, We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service, debuts No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. Released via Epic Records last Friday (Nov. 11), the album featuring guest appearances from Kanye West, André 3000, Kendrick Lamar, Elton John, Busta Rhymes, Jack White and more earned top spot with 135,000 equivalent album units opening week (112,000 were in traditional album sales) according to Nielsen Music.

We Got It From Here becomes ATCQ’s second No. 1 album, following Beats, Rhymes and Life which topped the album chart 20 years ago in August 1996. The legendary Queens group makes history, breaking the record for the longest wait between No. 1 hip-hop albums albums, easily surpassing Jeezy’s eight-year stretch between No. 1 albums.

Safe to say ATCQ founder member Phife Dawg, who died back in March from complications related to to diabetes, is smiling from above. Support the album on iTunes and stream it below.
