WHERE’S THE MONEY GEORGE ? from oizo mr on Vimeo.

Looking at my recent timeline of posts, the ratio of boobs to non-boobs is alarmingly unbalanced, so I’m going to try to reestablish some sort of happy medium….

Back in October, when that bizarro “Ear” art short came out, starring Pharrell….we also noticed a clip online from the making of another video, this time teaming up Pharrell with puppet Flat Eric (previously seen in a Levi’s ad). This is a longer version of the video, directed by French producer Mr. Oizo….but it still seems unfinished because at the end, where is Flat Eric’s music? (Spotted on Nahright)

Previously: Pharrell loses an ear, and fights a puppet…what have you done lately? ; )

I enjoy fine art along with my pop art, and even though I don’t pretend to be an expert on the modern art scene, I stay up on the big stars and find my own personal favorites (like Ruscha, Prince and Yue Minjun). But some things just seem abstract for abstract sake. Yi Zhou is an acclaimed globalista who makes big multi-media art installations (not my fave medium) and even showed at Sundance…but aside from Pharrell’s C.I.A.-ready knife skills, the best part of this piece is the soundtrack by Ennio Morricone (especially the scratchy record-player white noise). On the other hand, this clip below, of Pharrell fighting Flat Eric (the puppet from French producer Mr. Oiso’s famous Levi’s commercial) looks very promising : )

After the jump…you can see the original Flat Eric Levi’s commercial…

On this week’s installment of A Waste of Time with ItsTheReal, Eric and Jeff Rosenthal sit down with two hip-hop legends who are still doing it big, Royce Da 5’9″ and DJ Premier. In the almost two-hour interview, Royce and Premo reflect on their respective careers, as well as their history together, while discussing their upcoming album PRhyme 2 (out March 16).

Needless to say, the conversation has a ton of great stories — from Premo meeting Redman and Craig Mack as roadies while on tour with EPMD to Big L taking JAY-Z under his wing to that time Royce, Eminem and Pharrell had a rap battle over the phone.
