Young Moola Baby! MTV News Extended Play: Drake
Posted by Legend under album preview , videos[17] Comments
Legend: Drake sat down with MTV last week to talk to MTV about his collabo with Jay-Z from the Thank Me Later album, but also about Weezy’s role in the development of their careers, the “Drake & 40″ sound (40 is Drake’s main producer), and how he plans to share his story to the world through his album.
More videos can be seen at MTV. After the jump he explains working with producer 40 as well as the role Weezy plays when it comes to Young Money and their music.

NIGGA PLEASE!!!!!!!!
What story you got?…..
I grew up rich?
I had access to t.v and music, top notch studios/producers/record labels?
My family is full of famous people and ballers with connections?
Drake can rap but so can 100’s of others. The deference is they don’t have access to stars and other shit I just named. He not famous cause of his skills he’s famous because of lil wayne.

you mad cus his family busted they ass so that drake could have better opportunities??? haha! that’s the most ignorant hatred ive ever heard. that’s what you supposed to do. so i guess you gonna be lazy in life so that your kids struggle just so some lame will look at your child and say “oh he cool. he broke like me”
THAT’S IGNORANCE. keep cryin about his success.
he’s cosigned by baby, wayne and jay-z. all these dudes came from the bottom and they respect drake. that ain’t enough for you? let me guess.. you’re a gucci mane and souljaboy fan. yeah, thought so.

Cosign above. Whenever I hear this dude speak and then listen to alot of his lyrics, he just seems scripted and disingenuous.
At least he has some bars though…

Drake is getting waaay too cocky . I too think he is scripted . He just reminds me so much of Jay when he raps like get your own damn style dude. Stop copying you can’t even freestyle

Who gives a shit about his backstory? It’s not like he’s talking
straight bs in his rhymes. He raps about philandering en masse, wasteful spending, his “feelings”, and the stress that comes with being in the spotlight. None of which seems unreasonable for a guy who’s famous. Regardless of where he came from, he makes good music. Yes, his music could stand to have a little more substance. Yes, his style somewhat apes Wayne’s, although I’ll go on a limb and say he’s more consistent in his rapping, whereas Wayne seems to be sleeping through some of his recent work. But I’ll be damned if he isn’t the one of the best song writers to come up in some time. I enjoy listening to his tunes, and he seems like the type of guy who’ll get better with time. If only the rest of YM was nearly as talented as him(Wanye excluded, of course).

Kanye part 2 with that shit. I’m sick of the “Mama taught me better but I continue to sin because I’m rich” schtick. If you know better, act like you know (better.) Or admit you don’t care – either or.
It’s like the Clipse with their endless repentant crack dealer shit… aggghhhhh shut up already.

I somewhat agree with that point. But the most important thing is that all three of the people you mentioned make good music. As long as they aren’t talking about satanic rituals or something crazy like that, I’ll listen to their hypocrisy, because, in the end, it’s music, and just that.

Yeah, good point, but I suppose it depends upon how much depth you expect in your hip-hop. This genre is double standard epitomized. I’m almost completely over being taunted with material shit I can’t afford, but I’m still rocking with homophobia and misogyny until further notice.

You can have an amazing life story but this ain’t A&E. This is music. You better make good music or else I don’t give a shit about how you had to struggle because I’m struggling to like your wack ass music. PERIOD. Why is this so hard to understand? Ya’ll are hard headed as f*ck LOL
