What a crazy day in rap. After Rozay’s wild interview where he mentioned trying to “choke” Jeezy at the 2012 BET Awards and MMG’s big move, the Snowman has officially announced that his CTE World imprint has also signed on with Atlantic Records. Prior to this move, he was appointed as Senior Vice President of A&R at Atlantic this past summer. First order of business will be Young Jeezy’s new mixtape, El Hefe: It’s Tha World “Es El Mundo,” slated for release tomorrow at noon (12/12/12). Given that the world doesn’t end. Ha!

Read Jeezy’s statement on Freddie’s departure from CTE after the jump…

When asked today about the split between himself and former CTE affiliate Freddie Gibbs, he replied, “Freddie is a talented artist and I decided that it’s time to press reset on my career and business ventures. I have no doubt that Freddie will go on to be everything I believe he can be, and I wish him the best in his career.”

The new imprint will function under Young Jeezy’s direction in association with Atlantic Records chairman, Craig Kallman.

Jeezy says, “This is a fresh start for the CTE brand as we re-launch it. This is why I chose to wipe the slate clean and create an outlet to support and nurture new artists to the best of my ability.”
