Xbox announces Project Natal…take that, Wii

wow, this is almost scary. The future is now. Xbox announced this next level in motion-sensing gaming and Xbox Live interaction yesterday at the E3 convention.
(I will say one thing tho….I like holding an actual controller for gaming because sometimes vibration-feedback helps gaming. Like to let you feel when you’re hitting effective punches etc)
more after the jump….

Being a ps3 fanboy is almost like being a knick fan at this point. Come on SONY!

The whole motion sensor thing doesn’t appeal to me. I own a Wii but it’s mostly collecting dust at this point. And all my PS3 games that utilize six axis I usually shut the option down if possible.
Call me old fashioned

yea theres no way the interface will actually work the way its depicted in this vid, the “scanning” of the skateboard and the flipping through the dresses are all cool ideas but theres no way they will translate into real life that way.

waaaaah, my 360 just friggin died, damn you three red rings of death. I should be able to afford another one by the time this motion sensing thing comes out though. Yeah cos Australia always gets things first before the rest of the world *rolls eyes*.

This stuff looks pretty amazing. The Wii is “finish” according to Thisis50. I much prefer a controller for shooter type games tho but it could be pretty interesting. Now all the 360 needs is blueray and the ps3 is done.

There’s NO way this technology works the way they portray it in that ad. I don’t believe, they need more people….

Tone and BangingMusic do the knowledge (check out this youtube video), SONY is generations ahead of MS, with this actual live-demo:

while MS is selling dreams, SONY is actually making them come true.
I agree with you thiz, the skateboard scan is fake, the kid had his hand on the bottom of the board, the camera should’ve picked that up.

if anything; this should give a hint to where consoles of the next, next gen will Go.
take into account things like stereoscopic (3d) based imagery; objects will pop off the screen… the “game” is mos definitely changing.
VR for the home here we come.
