I guess they really couldnt keep playing it off like she was just gaining weight, lol….Usher and Tomeka have announced that they’re having their first baby this fall….His first ever, Her fourth ever.
“We are extremely excited at this point in our lives planning our wedding and the joy that comes with expecting our first child together,” the couple said in a statement released to the Associated Press Wednesday. “We hope people will be happy for us and respect our privacy during this happy period in our lives.”
(kinda not the best grammatical wording but it’s all good, the kid can learn that stuff in school, right?)

I love Usher and all but I don’t know where he’s going with this one. Tamika just doesn’t seem to fit with him, so maybe it is love. Maybe he’s changed his player ways and found someone who was able to capture his heart. I mean look at T.I. Whether or not any two people marry (in the U.S.) is a private decision. The most unfortunate PUBLIC issue about the Usher, Tameka relationship is this class driven attitude that he might marry someone “beneath” him. Usher comes from the working class, and his present celebrity status does not qualify him as one who is unable to wed another working class person. That she is divorced, and has children does not make Tameka an unqualified bride. Obviously, there are deeper issues that prevent these two from a healthy union. However, I think the class prejudice of the public a very misguided one–especially among African Americans who have historically suffered prejudice and classism. “Check yourself, before you wreck yourself.” (Old-school Hip-Hop wisdom.)
