With the musical festivities (and controversy) out of the way, President Barack Obama’s second inauguration officially gets underway in Washington D.C. today. The event is currently being live streamed by the White House’s YouTube channel.

11am EST: President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and their families will be seated on the podium
11:35am: Myrlie Evers-Williams, civil rights activist and widow of slain Mississippi civil rights leader Medgar Evars, delivers the invocation
11:45am: Vice President Biden repeats his oath of office. Supreme court Justice Sonia Sotomayor officiates.
11:50am: Performance by singer James Taylor of American the Beautiful
11:55am: Obama repeats his oath of office as Chief Justice John Roberts officiates
Noon: Obama delivers his inaugural address
12.21pm: Performance by singer Kelly Clarkson of My Country, ‘Tis of Thee
12:26pm: Poet Richard Blanco reads his inaugural poem
12:30pm: The benediction by Dr. Luis León, pastor of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C.
12:34pm: Performance by Beyoncé of the National Anthem
Lunch break: The Obamas and Bidens join members of the Supreme Court, Congress and the cabinet for lunch in the Capitol
2:30pm: Obama reviews troops outside the Capitol
2:36pm: The inaugural parade, featuring floats representing about 60 groups, begins
5:30pm: The parade concludes
6pm: The inaugural ball begins

“Through blood drawn by lash and blood drawn by sword, we learned that no union founded on the principles of liberty and equality could survive half-slave and half-free. We made ourselves anew, and vowed to move forward together…”
This was the toughest line in Obama’s inaugural speech… Tough!
