i remember when summer jam would sell out in a day or 2, now with only 1 day before the show they still have a lot of
seats in the good sections available. this is a sign the economy is bad and
times are hard.

Put it this way, I live in East Rutherford, can hear the music right now through my window, was offered a free ticket and am at home watching the Finals. That’s not a knock on Hot97, bc this really is a classic hip hop event and i enjoy the coverage on MissInfo.tv every year. I just can’t see my self being there for hours just to see a couple of artists I fuck with like DipSet and a surprise or two like Mobb Deep.

Hey Shane, back in the days SummerJam were in arenas, which can hold up to 20,000 attendees. Now SummerJam takes place at the Meadlowlands outdoors in a stadium, which holds 55,000 people. Basketball arena and a football stadium to different monsters. Ive been to 3 SummerJam’s in Giants Stadium and you could barely see an empty seat. Its the only annual Hip-Hop Concert in a NFL stadium, the rests are mainly in arenas.
