Do your self a favor and stop reading this blog for a second and go pick up Decoded, if you haven’t already. The Dream Hampton x Jay-Z penned book breaks down some of Hov’s most personal songs, but you knew that already. Above, Jay pays a quick visit to polly with Jon Stewart on The Daily Show.
Nicki Minaj opens up about her childhood to Wendy Williams and Rick Ros performs in London after the jump…
“Rapper NICKI MINAJ was briefly left homeless as a child when her father set her family home on fire.
The Your Love hitmaker was born in Trinidad and lived there until the age of five.
She reveals her childhood home was burned to the ground after a fight between her parents sent her dad into a fiery rage.
Luckily the hip-hop star and her brother had been sent to live with a family friend the day before the incident – because her mum had had a vision about the blaze. She says, “He did burn the house down. It wasn’t an attempt, he did! My mother was in the house and she had to run out at the last minute.
“She had a dream the night before that the house was going to be burned down so she had me and my brother sleep at a friend’s house. And at three in the morning they woke us up and said, ‘You have to go to your house, something’s happened.’ We ran four or five blocks (home) and we just saw smoke.”
Minaj’s family soon relocated to Queens, New York.” (via Bossip)
The UK homie Sumit caught Ricky Rozay performing in London when things got really real….
“It was a great night but right at the end of the show there was a fight in the middle of the crowd. People just ran to the exits, some people got crushed, others falling to the ground.” – Sumit / HipHopChronicle

that may be an exaggeration. I’m pretty sure Hov is cultured enough now to know about Warhol. He certainly owns some. not that one equals the other. But I also think Stewart is well-read too.

The youth movement continues with the signing of a 34 year old. When the front office was actually so good at evaluating talent wouldn’there be considered a young RB on our practice squad or on another person’s roster to fill this role? Leach, Rabach, Pollard, Floyd, Mason, Ricky Williams…all of their signings – and intended signings – sound like the last painful rounds of the fantasy football league draft.
