Video: Rihanna acceptance speech at Glamour’s Woman of the Year awards

Mikey: RiRi was chosen for a ”Women of the Year” award at this year’s Glamour Awards and with cheat sheet in hand, she gave her thank you’s to the special people in her life. (via RapUp)
Miss Info: Also Concrete Loop posted a bunch of pretty pics from the event….which lead me to wonder….Seriously, Iman! What are you eating that makes you never age?? Its just getting to be ridiculous. Also, Zoe Kravitz, you’re really pretty and soo-cool-for-school, but I think a lip wax would be the icing on the cake. No shots?

The streets? Naw from it she always been hand fed in this industry. This is just extra promotion for her album. Mary gotten beat by that jo jo from jodeci and nobody gave her anything but insults at that time. The glamour award just went down a grade in status for this industry stunt.

It was actually K-Ci from Jodeci but I get your point.

I’m still fuzzy on exactly what she’s done to be honored along side those other great women. Besides getting being left for dead by Chris Brown she’s done nothing but walk around in cute clothes.

Nope takes alittle more then that streetpoet, K-Dubb, Glam, and others. It takes having more #1 records then any other artist in any genre this decade. 12 Million sold at 21 years old, what did you do at 21 people. Every chic in the industry and in the streets of NYC to LA biting her style the last 5 years from the hair on her head to the boots on her feet. Charity organizations, personally aiding in saving a young girls life. Publicly going through an embarrassing situation with grace, that also increased the dialog on a subject that needed to be addressed. Those are the kind of things it takes to be a women of the year. So before you start to needlessly hate on someone for achieving something stop take a minute and always ask your self what have you done are you really in a position to hate.

If people actually WATCHEd the video they’d see why she won. its glamour magazine first of all so part of it is her always fashionable. second, they speak about her charity work which NOBODY ever seems to write about…then third is her help to DV victims. whether people want to question her motives, the FACTS are that calls to the teen DV hotline went up 73% ever since rihanna did the 20/20 interview which means she had a big impact.

What the fuck am I doing now? If your older, what the fuck did I do when I was there age? what have I contributed to world in any way? Take the answer to those questions and then ask your self the most important question. Am I really in any position to hate on this person? In most cases I’d say no, so fall back respect the young women. If your a black man like I am respect the this young successful black women who shows some sort of class with her success in the public eye. With so much attention put on the Lil’ Kim’s, Brittney Spears, Kim Kardashians, Hiltons and Lohans of the world it’s nice to see someone who although she’s not perfect, like all of us, she does try to be the best roll model she can be. This award is much deserved props to RiRi.

Whatever kenny aint nobody hating on that bitch. What the fuck are to her …the A&R ? No let me guess a truly dedicated fan? Get over yourself with “what did you do in your lifetime” shit. You know she doesn’t deserve that shit. Plain and simple there are many other woman that should have received that award. Your only reasons for her are winning are more delusional then her actually winning the fucking award.
Next year ima pop my girl in the eye and then make her do a dateline interview before her album comes out. Hopefully she will get one too. Then maybe my hating ass will happy for once in life kenny…SMH!
The doesn’t write her own music. What next you going call her the utlimate diva right?
(Comparing michelle obama rihanna stats…then went to go vomit)
Get the fuck outta … captain save a hoe !
Up , up and AWAY!

@Kenny These ignorant jerks aren’t gonna listen to you dropping that knowledge on them. They too caught up in the “she’s being rewarded for nothing”, frame of mind. Miss Info put the video up to tell why she was being honored, but I bet the critics didn’t even listen to it, they just went in.

And stop using that lame leftist straw man to try to justify it. No one has told the Muslims that they can’t build a mosque. Those of us who oppose are saying “don’t do it THERE.” There are zoning ordinances across the nation that dictate where various businesses and other organizations can build. This is no different. There has already been discussion in NY about allowing this bunch to put the mosque somewhere else. But now that Obama has (again) stuck his nose in where it doesn’t belong, things are escalating out of control.
