Fresh off collaborations with Rockie Fresh, Travi$ Scott and Turk, Gunplay releases a video for his new track, “Pyrex.” Mean mugging in the streets with cutaway shots to the kitchen; there’s really no surprises in this one. Don Logan’s Cops & Robbers mixtape is available now, while his Def Jam debut, Medellin, is expected out later this year.

xxl freshman cypher 2

Kirko Bangz, Trinidad Jame$ and ScHoolboy Q steal the mic from Joey Bada$$, Action Bronson, Ab-Soul and Travi$ Scott for the second cypher of this year’s XXL Freshman class. DJ Drama mans the decks once again, while V12 the Hitman provides the beat. If this were a best-dressed competition, Trinidad would take home the gold (no pun intended).

2 chainz like me

2 Chainz brings his Based on a T.R.U. Story bonus track, “Like Me,” to our digital screens today. In the same way the song derives heavily on a sample of his music, The Weeknd’s stamp is felt all over this video; a ski mask-clad bride, solemn, blue-hued shots and a storyline that you don’t really understand, but it looks pretty poignant.

juicy j

13 years after Three 6 Mafia and UGK’s classic “Sippin’ On Some Syrup” collaboration, Juicy J and Pimp C trade bars about “smoking out, pouring up” on the new “Show Out” remix. The late, great Houston rhymer is also joined by T.I., who replaces Big Sean on the Mike WiLL Made It-produced club banger (Young Jeezy holds onto his hook duties). Juicy’s Stay Trippy debut is coming soon.

black thought combat jack show

You didn’t think Complex TV‘s Combat Jack Show would just be five minutes long did you? In part two of the premiere episode, Black Thought remembered the time he used to form his own posse cuts by impersonating the likes of Kool G Rap, Biz Markie and Kane and shared the backstory to that memorable 2009 BET Cypher with Mos Def and Eminem. Can you imagine if Rakim had actually turned up!? With Just Blaze on the 1s and 2s, The Roots MC later did what he did best: spit an ill freestyle.

Watch Thought recall his first meeting with Questlove and the time he almost slapped “the s**t outta” Nas in part one here.

french 6

Even with existing star-studded singles like “Pop That” featuring Rick Ross, Drake and Lil Wayne, “Ocho Cinco” with Diddy, MGK, Los, Red Cafe, and “Freaks” alongside Nicki Minaj, French Montana still has plenty of surprises in store on his Excuse My French debut (out May 21). Case in point: a particularly intriguing collaboration with The Weeknd called “Gifted.” The pair have recently been busy filming its music video, which apparently includes cameos from two stunning tiger cubs. Or should I say, “kitten mittens” (zing!)

A lot of us probably cringe at the thought of even seeing an ex-girlfriend or boyfriend, but for celebs, dating in the industry means you will you that old flame sooner or later. In some cases you may even be forced to interact with that person. Scorned or not, keeping it professional says a lot. This week, former hip-hop couples Ashanti & Nelly and Bow Wow & Ciara found themselves interviewing one another on national TV. Honestly, both ex-couples did well but who was the most awkward?
