UPDATE: here’s more footage from last night’s epic Red Bull Big Tune Battle of the Beats event at Opera in Atlanta. Jadakiss performed, and aspiring producers battled for the chance to collaborate with a major artist (last year’s winner, C-Sick, got his track laced by Nas)….then Alchemist and Just Blaze went beat for beat in a friendly “beat-off” (lol, ok, that didn’t sound right)
Look how happy the whole crowd is! Now this is one of those perfect hip hop moments. I remember how fun Swizz Beats vs. Kanye West was at Summerjam a couple years ago. This is even better.
I can’t wait for more footage of this to come out (hit me if you see any), looked amazing!

UPDATE: More footage from the beat battle after the jump…

And here’s DJ KillaTouch’s original footage from the event.

Now THIS! right here is what it’s all about that’s what Hip-hop is supposed to be. Sometimes esp in these times the people need a reminder every once in a while. I need more of this asap. Just Blaze had those early dynasty roc classics and post BP bangers ringing off in that place, makes you really miss that dynasty like non other ah well. Alchemist was not backing down with heat rocks of his own I love it. I was there for the Kanye vs. Swizzy Summer Jam battle and that was epic as well this is the shit we need more of.
Lastly your totally right info “Alchemist and Just Blaze went beat for beat in a friendly “beat-off”" definitely sounds alittle off LOL oh well

That wasn’t friendly battle. Just Bleezy murda’d that kid. Look at the crowd. Why did buddy even agree to get clowned like that? He had a couple songs but Blaze had what E-40 refers to as “back-to-back-to-back blaps” Every song he played was my isht at one point in time. Sorry Alchemist. Guess u gotta be a true New Yorker to feel his isht.?

Don’t be stupid. I didn’t say he was FROM New York, I just said u gotta b a New York ass nigga to love that type’a shit. I’m from Dayton and if that shit aint bangin then it gets no play. We don’t ride around bumpin’ MF Doom and Cappadonna like you. And (God Bless The Dead) we ain’t on the J.Dillas and 88Keys type of beats.
Ask 100 people who’s shit was hotter and you gonna be on the losing side, bro. Fuck the vocals to the songs… the BEATS were nasty!!

yea sad to say that strictly speaking there was no contest here, Just Blaze “won” in the competition of beat for beat, but nothing of his made me go as nuts as i did when Alch dropped “Still Feel Me”, that shit hits you in a way that JB just hasnt.
Also I was waiting for “Hold You Down” v. “Soon You’ll Understand” !! how often is it that two producers battling have flipped the same sample and made two completely different heatrocks? I think HYD woulda ate SYU

I’m on my 10th play of this shit, so nasty. Blaze was getting cosigns from Jigga on nuff of those tracks tho. Alchemist was killing the crowed just of the strength of the instrumentals. Alchemist wasn’t even going hard in the paint yet. Overall wicked battle.

I think Alchemist “won”. Yeah just blaze has more top 40’s but AL got that one.
I want to see Neptunes vs. Timbo or Dr.Dre vs. Premo.

Yo this joint was crazy. I gotta give Alch his props all his beats were insane. I would have liked for Just to keep it strictly beats. More of this please. Hip-hop all day. This reminded me why I love Hip-hop

I don’t know, all of Blaze’s beats had vocals. That tricks the crowd a bit and makes them root for him more because they know the words to all these classic Rocafella tracks. Alc was making me feel it on beats alone.
