Video: Just Blaze, DJ Premier, A-Trak and Cipha Sounds close out Fat Beats NYC

On August 18th Fat Beats announced that they’ll be closing their 2 remaining stores in New York (Sept 4th) and Los Angeles (Sept 18th). To tribute Fat Beats 16 years in business they’ve had blow out sales and final tribute parties for the public to enjoy. This past weekend at the NY location people such as DJ Premier, Just Blaze, A-Trak, Statik Selektah, DJ Scratch, Rass Kass, Tanya Morgan, J-Live, Masta Ace, Supernatural, Cipha Sounds and more paid respects with performances leading to the final day. Above Just Blaze plays a set including a run through of his classics for the crowd.
Peter Rosenberg who was also there to capture some of the event did a special Fat Beats tribute mix that you can download here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
MissInfo: my favorite clip on this post is the last one, listening to my buddy Cipha Sounds talk about his days as a intern for DJ Riz (who is a wealth of wax knowledge) to DJ-ing for Lil Kim (getting much flack from his cronies)…..Ciph always reminisces about those early days with so much love. It’s infectious : ) I really appreciate the care that all these guys took in celebrating their own personal “Cheers.”
After the jump DJ Premier & A-Trak’s set plus Cipha Sounds speaks on his Fat Beats memories…
Props to Peter Rosenberg and ToneRiggz’s (who has much more videos for the event) Youtube Channel for the footage.

The Just Blaze set is the best video of the set. Dropped STRAIGHT HEAT. His work and other hip hop classics.
If I was there I’d probably lose my mind. Nothing like great music that speaks for itself. Love how he dropped “It Aint Hard To Tell” just like that.

Wonder what will happen to all the signed auotographed blk/wht photos and posters on the wall? Hmmm.
