Video: Alicia Keys & Jay-Z at Nokia Theater (World Aids Day Concert)
Posted by Mikey Fresh under things I like , videos[15] Comments
Mikey: Last night in honor of World Aids Day, Alicia Keys performed a full set at the Nokia Theater in New York City. Running through her extended catalog of hits which now includes “Doesn’t Mean A Thing”, and of course the track that is just as much Jay’s as it is hers, “Empire State” which included a guest appearance by the man himself. Above check out Ms. Keys & Jay-Z, more Keys after the jump

Well according to it’s number 3 status on itunes right now people aren’t as sick of this song as Ray and some others think sorry hommie but they should play and perform this song as long as the people want to hear it and obviously by the single sales and the crowd reactions they do. It’s an instant classic so either get used to hearing or go put on baby by me cause we all know that’s some timeless shit right there HaHaHaHa Epic Fail!

I like the jam personally… Every time I hear it, I like it. BP3 is a great LP, you have to listen to it. I listened to BISD and did not love it. Actually was not feeling it at all. But maybe I a was not the target market for it… I am no killer or internet thug. I am working class, father, and husband in my early 30’s so my taste for music has evolved. I like forever music and BP3 is forever shyt. Look it inspired Beans, Free, and hopefully 50 to get back in the lab and work on some quality shyt in lieu of the beef gimmick. Random thoughts… Sess

I did what he [Jay-Z] did in 15 Years in 4 Years.” – 50 Cent.
See the truth needs no explanation; if he came out and sold 800K units, he would not have to make this comment. Since his shyt sold Koch numbers, he feels obligated to engage in this negative interaction. So he must be talking about albums sold??? How many number 1 albums does he have?
I like the idea of 50, but the actual product is played out!

Alicia Keys is one of my favorite artist but the notion that she added some extraordinary dimension to the record is far-fetched.
Don’t get me wrong Alicia has got soul& unique vocal range but any decent singer would have carried the chorus through.
Correct me if i’m wrong the first time Empire state of mind was performed @MSG 911 concert,Bridget Kelly did the vocals as on many other numerous occasions. The record still resonates with people with or without the Alicia factor.
C’mon son!you can’t go wrong with a record with a chorus like Newyork,Newyork in the same year the Yankees reign supreme plus the hypnotic baseline,Al Shux went crazy on the beat.
Jay and Alicia(both newyorkers) equally talented compliment each other. It seems the anti-jay-z sentiment is now a fad and mostly for the wrong reason. However what i find unacceptable is the level of blasphemy that comes out of Jay-z.
