Girl power was the theme on Sunday night for “VH1 Divas” 2012. Broadcasted live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, The evening celebrated two music icons in the late Whitney Houston and Donna Summer with tribute performances. For Houston, her Sparkle co-star in Jordin Sparks joined Melanie Fiona and Ledisi for an all-star medley of the pop diva’s hits “I’m Every Woman,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me),” “It’s Not Right But It’s Okay” and “How Will I Know.” While Kelly Rowland, Keri Hilson and Adam Lambert hit the stage to pay their respects to Summer with live renditions of “Bad Girls,” “She Works Hard for the Money” and “Last Dance.”

Ciara showed off her dance moves with a tribute to her idol Michael Jackson by performing “Billie Jean,” before rocking to her single “Got Me Good” with 8 Flavahz of “America’s Best Dance Crew” fame. Iggy Azalea repped hip-hop as the Aussie sensation shared the stage with Natasha Bedingfield and Bootsy Collins for a cover of Deee-Lite’s ’90s dance number “Groove Is in the Heart.”
