I have to give it too you on that..

Peoples Instinctive....
Low End Theory.....
and
Midnight Marauders

Have to be the 3 greatest back to back to back albums in hip hop...well at least the 90s. Tribe had a perfect climax and decention as far as albums go in hip hop. because Beats, Rhymes, and Life and Love Movement were worst than worser...

i give you that...i shouldve said monumental or changed hip hop. Cause I dont feel like RD did anything was a monumental or even changed Hip Hop...like the other albums did. As far as a classic goes, i just feel like in 10-20-30 years when people look back at the best hip hop albums in the 90s. I dont think RD would be one of them. More Vol. 2, because it sold a grip...

I absolutely agree that Jay's album is not as great as people make it out to be.

People pretend like Jay-Z pioneered mafioso/hustler rap when that clearly wasn't true. Cuban Linx came out earlier and is a better album. It Was Written & Doe or Die also came out earlier.

and yeah, Jay's stuff was bumped up to classic status in retrospect because of just how huge he got around '98-99/Vol 2 time. and yes Jay knows how to promote his shit REALLY well.

However, it's still a classic album. There are not many albums that are better than it IMO. From a musical standpoint. and even if people were 'late' to come to it, the album was still dope enough to stand the test of time and people were able to pull stuff from it.

The infamous album is a 90s classic point blank period... your right it does rank up there with 36 chambers, ready to die, OBCL, and midnight marauders and so forth....

But I gotta let it out on this one.....im sick and tired of folks trying to compare Reasonable Doubt to all the albums that I just mentioned and the many more albums that are deemed classics of the 90s. All eyez on me etc. LETS KEEP IT REAL PEOPLE when Reasonable Doubt came out it was one of the most slept on albums...and I dont even think it went platinum until many years later....In my eyes it was not a classic at all...it absolutely nothing for hip hop in 96' (think about it)

Nothing like the WU, PAC, TRIBE..etc. JZ's album didnt do a damn thing for the 90's era...so i dont see why folks try to act like RD make a significant impact on the 90s golden era. HOW IS IT A HIP HOP CLASSIC...Aside from the massive pub from Jay Z himself and re-releasing of the album to the public in thelast 10 years....i think JAY Z has done well in convincing the public that it is a classic...sorda like how he has mass marketing campaigns to promote his album...but lets keep it real RD didnt stand a chance against the REAL HIP HOP CLASSICS.....PLEASE SOMEONE LET ME KNOW how it is a classic .... MISSINFO?..SOMEONE? PLEASE!!
