Condolences go out to the friends, family and fans of Bronx hip hop legend Tim Dog (Timothy Blair). The unofficial member of the Ultramagnetic MC’s has passed away after suffering a diabetes-related seizure. Tim Dog was 46 years old. (sources: The Source, Complex)
Last year there was a less dignified scandal involving Tim Dog when Dateline exposed the former rapper as a convicted credit card defrauder.
But Tim Dog’s contribution to hip hop was with one of the most iconic diss songs of all time…
Tim Dog’s 1991 classic, “Fuck Compton”, a response to the rise of N.W.A and West Coast gangsta rap in general.

Cmon, Info………All due respect, Tim Dog is not a legend. Just because someone made records in prior days does not qualify said person as a legend. If thats the case, Sam Bowie is a legend. Love ya Inf.

i disagree in this case. Fuck Compton was a very key moment during the “growing pains” of hip hop….and it was that kind of east vs west aggression that laid the groundwork for what happened later between Death Row and Bad Boy. One hit wonders can be legends, esp when they’re also part of a larger group that is very seminal. And if you’re not up on Ultramagnetic then you should be.

R.I.P. Tim Dog…coincidentally, I was listening to The Chronic album via youtube yesterday..Regardless as to where we reside on this earth which is absolutely vast, specifically amongst black men;we do not need to be at each others throat….Real Talk…we are an endangered species.

Karma just came and got him before someone else did! So he is considered lucky !

Regrettably, our brother is accused of doing some things that damaged a lot of people and we are not condoning his actions, every real hip hop head is embarrassed and feel deeply saddened by his actions. We are discussing his contribution to Hip Hop about 22 years ago.Unfortunately time did not afford him the opportunity to repair his actions. On behalf of our culture we apologize for what the brother is accused of doing.BUT I can name 5 hot rappers that are in rotation on every urban radio station right now that has sold cocaine and talked about it on their songs,which has leveled the black community to dust but they are being booked in all sorts of venues.
