Tyler, The Creator has been arrested for alledgely inciting a riot during his show at SXSW on Thursday.
As SPIN reported earlier this week, the Odd Future frontman encouraged hundreds of people to break down the gates and storm the already-packed 999 capacity venue during his headlining set at Scoot Inn. The sound was cut off, which almost sent the place into violent chaos. Fortunately, Tyler resumed his set and there were no reports of any injuries. Still, this came just a day after the horrific hit-and-run incident outside his House of Vans show which left two people dead and 23 injured.
Tyler was arrested at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport earlier today. Police say he “encouraged behavior causing an immediate danger and injury to persons.” Tyler is reportedly still in custody on a $3,500 bond.
UPDATE: According to a statement from the Austin Police Department, Tyler has been charged with a Class A Misdemeanor with bond set at $25,000. They’ve also released his mugshot, which you can see below.
