Direct Messages have by far been the most, um, interesting addition to Twitter in recent years (word to J.R. Smith), and today they announced they have upgraded the feature to allow private group conversations for up to 20 people. The new function is pretty straightforward and will be familiar to those who already DM on the regular, but here, users don’t need to be following one another in order to chat. Just don’t get caught sliding into the wrong DMs, fellas.

In addition to group messaging, Twitter has also introduced its new native video player on iOS and Android apps, which allows users to capture, edit and share video clips up to 30 seconds long.
