Tupac VS. special on Fuse TV: “I used to believe, I didnt have to fear my own community, they would never harm me…”
Posted by Miss Info under quotes , sigh.... , videos[20] Comments
Eric/DXStreet sent over these clips from FUSE TV’s “Tupac VS.” special which airs tomorrow (weds), as part of a whole night of Pac-related programming (including Juice. Man, if I could only tell you my Juice-related memories, lol). In the above clip, Pac talks about how he added his own edit to the Poetic Justice script. By the way, I’m really loving the new revamp of the channel.
After the jump, Pac talks about how he never thought someone from his own community would try to harm him. And Michael Eric Dyson comments on Pac’s aura.
No disrespect to Michael Eric Dyson, but what does this mean “he didn’t have the ‘mathematical’ flow of Biggie”? Describing and quantifying music is such fuzzy math to me.

Well he really didnt say Tupac sucked as a rapper.
he just said he was a better actor. ( and i liked pac more as an actor as well, I luv the movie Juice)
so one could say …pac was a great rapper, but he was even better as an actor.
you dont automatically have to go on your negative rants BIG…sheesh.

Info you’re the woman who gave illmatic 5 mics so no one can really question your pedigree in hip hop. I would like to know your honest opinion no politics no bullshit. Who was the better MC Biggie or Pac? Combat Jack did a post on xxl.com a while back about how Pac was the most overrated rapper of all time and a lot of people went crazy but I feel the same way. The guy had a lot of passion and he put his heart into his music but that doesn’t necessarily make you a great MC in my book but that’s just me. I don’t expect you to agree with me but I would love to hear your point of view because I respect your opinion.

what I think he meant by mathematical flow was “Rhythmic” flow (e.g. Iambic pentameter), but as Big stated above:
“Dyson is…nothing more than a fast talking word pimp” dude tries to hard to be mos def and cornell west at the same time.

lol, that what people who always want to hate on Pac say, he wasnt a great mc, usually argued by irritating intellectuals and NY elitists and hipsters and i normally respect Dyson.
But Pac was a great rapper, just the same way a lot of people have come to respect certain rappers from the south, its the same way a lot of people have come to respect Pac’s style. It may not be NY intricate but its still its own kind of greatness.
Definitely the most charismatic hip hop related person ever.

what the hell does new york have to do with anything. people from new york love pac you idiot. he’s from new york. the fact of the matter is he wasn’t the greatest mc point blank he was good not great and i have everything he put out. people confuse being charismatic and bein real so real sometimes to the point of bein stupid and paranoid to being a great mc. people just can’t come to grips that he wasn’t like that until after juice. it turned him out. a fuckin movie

Ill tell you one thing brother ….
Tupac realized that beauty is in simplicity. He did not want to go over peoples head. He was all about putting the message out crystal clear … and not to lose you in crazy metaphors. The depth was in the message.
