i know these guys. their music is not a gimmick, its not a joke, but at the same time its not to be taken too seriously.. its a statement, its a lifestyle, its an expression. basically it is what it is. its originality in an industry where thoughtful music has been taken over by a money making formula. Ninjasonik is making the music they were meant to make. respect them for that, whether you like the song or not.

I quite like ninjasonik. They make good danceable music. I don’t see how this is not good for hip-hop. The evolution of style. Let the New York hipsters have their version of crunk. The beat is more interesting than most of the other things out there. I mean Ninja>soujaboy for example. And I am sure you have danced to that terrible song at least once in your life. What is all the more sad is Miss Info’s utter inability to understand the role that parody and satire play in social commentary and hip-hop. In addition, the utter lack of appreciation for nuance, diversity, and innovation in the sound and musical direction of the genre is the reason why we have such craptastic shit on the radio now. And Hot 97 and other corporate media are the precise reason why groups like Ninjasonik move forward with such ferocity and attract such dedicated fans.
Anyone who knows the Williamsburg, Bushwick, or Baltimore scenes knows Jah Jah, Teenwolf, and Ninjasonik. And they respect the ever-Sparks-lovin’ shit out of these dudes. They come with witty and incisive lyrics capturing the precise moment and subculture that produced them over infectious beats that defy categorization.
But since niccas probably won’t catch what I’m dropping down without recourse to allusions to mainstream garbarge, I simply put it like this:
“Niggaz fear what they don’t understand/hate what they can’t conquer/guess its just a theory of man.”
Miss Info, wikipedia “parody.” Much of Ninjasonik’s work is a wonderful modern day manifestation of a unfortunately neglected genre (at least as far as music goes). what makes it crazier is through 6 degrees, theres a connecting thread between yall both (meanin info and ninja)that being streetwear..
truth be told, i dont think this ninja dude is meant to be taken too seriously.. he just buggin out doin’ him.. I mean he a skinny a$$ dude so if he wanna go tighty then hey by all means.. but the chubby dude from cool kids for example goin’ in on Cheap Mondays is not such a good look.. i’m more of a Biggie style “Wear boxers so my *ick can breath” brother myself so i couldnt see where the hell my boxers would have room to sit.. but to each his or her own..

@jason…I appreciate the pageviews, and from all accounts your favorite rapper is great guy, but I wasnt judging his character, I was reacting to his song. Which nobody can force me to like. Just like no amount of mainstream branding can force me to like the majority of rappers on the radio.
If the goal of some of his fans was to let me know that they strongly identify with him and rep his crew, then done and done.

There must be something in the air that has corrupted peoples minds. The logic in some of the comments is down right ridiculous.
When I saw this video I thought it was a joke, I did not think this dude was serious. He compared himself to ODB a hip-hop Icon therefore allowing hip-hop fans to critique his work.
Miss Info being a hip-hop fan gave her opinion, regardless of whether or not the music is hip-hop or not everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
So for y’all to make racist comments its like sayin if you ain’t black don’t listen to hip-hop or you shouldn’t rap. Thats not wsup, if your whack and full of sh*t everybody say u’re whack get a day job, simple coz theres enough pollution in the air as it is.

@jah jah….first off, thanks for stopping by and addressing a post which didnt say the nicest things about your song/vid. I appreciate that you allowed me my opinion here without stooping to the level of some of your fans
I haven’t changed my opinion of the song/vid, but I’ll consider that the song is meant to be ironic, just like my post was meant to be sarcastic.
I can’t speak for some of your fans, who may have convoluted the message youre trying to send into something non-inclusive….but I respect your grind, and I have a feeling we have mutual friends.Those are the only folks that matter to me. Not the lemmings.
As for your second comment, I totally understand passion and props on being able to inspire it. Reading back, parts of the original post went beyond critique and got meanspirited for the sake of snarky humor. It wasnt about you, it was about the song. But yes, parts of this debate have been funny.
