Confirmed: a new TLC album is happening. Surviving members of the group, T-Boz and Chilli, took the evermore popular route of launching a Kickstarter to fund their fifth and final LP last month. Well, the campaign ended yesterday (February 19) and raised more than $430,000, smashing its initial target of $150,000.

“Thank you to everyone who has donated to our final album!! The amount doesn’t matter but the fact that you donated means the world to us,” Chilli wrote on the Kickstarter page. The project received an incredible 4,201 donations in total, with Katy Perry chipping in $5,000 — and it’s no surprise why.
As if getting another TLC album isn’t worth the money alone, the group were also offering amazing items, memorabilia and services like a signed copy of the record, a movie date with T-Boz or Chilli and even a “hangout session” as they record their final album in the studio.
The project has already attracted several high-profile names including Dallas Austin (who co-wrote “Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg,” “Creep” and “Unpretty”), Ne-Yo (who co-wrote their 2013 reunion track “Meant to Be”) and veteran producer Ron Fair, who has signed on as an executive producer.
To top it all off, TLC will be hitting the road with Nelly and New Kids On The Block for a two-month tour, which kicks off in Vegas this Spring.
