The long-awaited original movie, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, a biopic on the legendary girl group aired on Monday night via VH1. Fans of the trendsetting 90s-trio tuned in as original members T-Boz, Chilli, and the late Left-Eye were played by Keke Palmer, Lil’ Mama, and Drew Sidora.

Taking place mainly in Atlanta, the made for TV release brought realism and authenticity throughout the 90-minute flick. The biopic portrays the group’s rise to fame, financial struggles, heartbreak, severe health issues in T-Boz’s case with Sickle-cell anemia, and the tragic death of Left-Eye.

The most talked about moment during its premiere, undoubtedly circles around TLC’s former manager in Perri “Pebbles” Reid, who’s played by Rochelle Aytes. The flim touches on Pebbles’ rumored shady dealings, allegedly making millions as the group received far less than their multi-million album sales showed. From schemes, to awkward contracts, manipulation, and ignoring T-Boz during a difficult time dealing with her Sickle-cell anemia, CrazySexyCool stays authentic to the stories told by remaining members of Chilli and T-Boz.
