T.I. speaks during Easter service in Atlanta….
Posted by Miss Info under life beyond rap , quotes , relationships and family[15] Comments
SandraRose has some exclusive photos of T.I., wifey Tiny (who is 6 months pregnant) and the rest of the clan, during the brief time TI was allowed out of his house arrest to attend Easter church services this past Sunday…
According to Atlanta news, , during the service, T.I. addressed the congregation himself….
“[T.I.] drew applause and some friendly laughter when he spoke about his purpose for observing Easter. “We’re here to celebrate the death of our Lord and Savior,” Harris said, “he was willing to give his life for us so that we may ask for forgiveness for our sins and be forgiven and saved…no matter how many times we have to ask…or how long it takes to get it right.”"
If nothing else, being forced to stay at home has got to bring you much closer with your family and your faith, which is a silver lining, no?

@eskay…yeah, its a bit precious. But then again, celeb-packed mass for 30,000 in a superdome? just over the top all the way around. I just don’t know what’s goin’ these days….

allowing rappers who lead dubious lifestyles to stand on stage and preach to the congregation on Easter Sunday – classic (smh….)

Forget Christ’s death and his resurrection, lets all focus on T.I and family. This was just a good photo opportunity for them. Nothing more, nothing less!

Is your name Miss Information or “Misinformation” because you got your story wrong! T.I did not attend Easter “Mass.” Mass is for catholics and a catholic church will NEVER invite a rapper with a criminal record and pending gun charges to speak during services. This is a BAPTIST church called New Birth Missionary Baptist church. Miss Info, I suggest you remove the word “Mass” from the title of your post. Sorry I happen to be catholic and it’s offensive. I do like T.I’s music but you media personalities never get it right!

@atl celeb….oops, my bad. I’m not that familiar with all the religious lingo, I didn’t realize that Baptist services are not considered Mass.
But I sense some extreme holier than thou elitism in your statement about your faith in relationto other faiths which is disturbing, far beyond my semantic error.
Check yourself and ask your higher power if you should be judging others in their name.

Miss Info didn’t mean it like that. I’m catholic too but have you noticed at Christmas, Easter and other religious celebrations, it is our denomination they pick for media stories? I also work in the media aside from being a professional blogger? They pick we catholics because of the VATICAN! The Pope is shown and that is why she probably wrote “Mass.” You never see the Archbishop of the church of England or the American Baptist Bishop?
It’s always the Pope and mass around the world. Let’s not get angry. I visited that church a few times too. As for you Miss Info, 30,000 is nothing. Mase has a mega church too on the other side of ATL and so does Creflo Dollar. I always took my camera to church to get a photo-op with celebs. LOL!

@kemi…thank you for understanding. I was raised primarily agnostic and buddhist, but have been exploring Catholicism with family, so I’m that well-versed.
I respect all the different faiths, but the biggest deterrent for me from certain faiths is the snotty judgmental bias that is exhibited by certain religious types who take the rules and the ritual and turn them into cultural elitism.
As for the mega churches, that sounds wild. 30,000 plus would be kind of intimidating to me. There’s always a see and be scene element, lol.

Thats one of the most succinct explanations of why alot of people are put off by religion I’ve ever heard. Notable Quotable.
