While everyone is in a tizzy about Cassie’s hooha piercing, T.I. went on the air on Atlanta’s 107.9 and announced that in light of the Smoking Gun’s revelation that Alfamega was once a confidential informant in a Federal drug trial, he is dropping Alfamega from Grand Hustle.
T.I.’s statement on Alfamega (audio spotted on Illroots)
Just thinking about how surreal this must have felt for both TI and Alfa. For TI, the revelation that he is about to go to prison, after being audiotaped by a bodyguard-turned-informant…and then it turns out that one of the artists under his wing was also an informant….must have been so ironic.
And then for Alfamega…as much of an outcast we’re all going to see him as now…I remember when we, and myself included, were commending him for his dogged loyalty to TI. So imagine what that must have felt like for him…every day wondering when the ax will drop. I dont know if anyone you guys ever had to read any Edgar Allen Poe, but this whole thing is so “Tell-tale Heart.”
The audio of T.I.’s call sounds like he’s in a bombshelter, but after the jump, there’s a transcription of his very formal statement…
“Even though all our artists and employees are asked by us to be honest and open about their past history, at no time did Alfa disclose to me or Grand Hustle what has now appeared in the media. He essentially deceived us by failing to fully disclose the truth about his past and there is no place in our organization for dishonest and misleading behavior. As I have always said, you must take responsibility for your own actions. We at Grand Hustle can not support or condone the blaming of others for our own mistakes. I hope and pray to god bless his financial plans, but I don’t forsee me or my company playing a role in his personal or professional business. End.”
