Things I Like: “Losin’ Out” Black Milk feat. Royce da 5′9″

I’m scared of listening to new rap. I know that’s counter-intuitive considering what my job entails but I feel like I can be honest with youse guys. I’m allergic to hype and easily bored.
So in general my choice in music goes in this order….
1) songs I’ve loved from over 10 years ago.
2) songs I’ve loved from 2 to 10 years ago.
3) songs I’m familiar with but didnt even necessarily love from over 2 years ago.
4) new songs from artists already represented in #2.
5) new songs from new artists.
6) songs currently playing at The Limited/Express, any eatery in the Times Square area, and in top 10 rotation on urban radio.
7) new songs from artists represented in #1.
But that being said, I took a chance at FWMJ’s suggestion and have to say I really like this new song “Losin’ Out” from young Detroit mc/producer Black Milk, featuring the always spitacular Royce da 5′9″.

Black Milk is a beast on the mic (although he doesn’t think he’s nice) and behind the boards. I love his shit…hopefully his management shoot me something in the next 24 hours. My brother just told me that BM was giving out his CD in NY today right before I went here. I envy you right now, Info.
One.

Info you are FINE! (just had to get that out of my system) I’m glad you took the time to endorse Motor City’s native son. That track with Royce is crazy but the REAL HEAT is “Give The Drummer Sum”. They got the video for the making of it on YouTube. Black Milk is the truth, the FUTURE and Detroit is most definitely in the BUILDING. 313!!!

info did you check out Elzhi’s The Preface album? Its mostly produced by Black Milk. I think these dudes are the best of a relatively new breed of rappers.

The pre-album mixtape ELEC (geddit?) is wicked.
Whenever those dudes, Milk, Sean P, Nickle, Rass & Bishop get together it’s solid.

This is aight, although I think Black Milk needs to tighten up his skills, he just sound too generic to me but Royce is always classic. I love Black Milk’s creativity and talent but you can def. tell he is a producer 1st not a rapper. Just my opinon. Unfortunately this song prolly won’t be on the Radio or on TV like that
