Following his first show south of the border at Coachella 2012, The Weeknd kicked off his much-anticipated U.S. tour in Brooklyn, New York at The Music Hall of Williamsburg on Tuesday night. Tickets sold out in a matter of seconds for the first of two NYC shows, which gave fans in the tri-state area their first look at the elusive singer/songwriter Abel Tesfaye. With a live band accompanying him, the packed crowd got to hear favorites from his trilogy of critically-acclaimed mixtapes released in 2011. The Weeknd returns to the Big Apple on April 28 at the Bowery Ballroom.

Why does he always do Wicked Games acoustic? As brilliantly as he does it, it completely ruined his Coachella set, such an anti climax for a finish.
