After random spot shows in Canada, the illusive singer/songwriter known as The Weeknd made his first debut on U.S. soil earlier tonight at Coachella 2012. Performing at the festival’s main stage, the singer brought along a 3-man live band for the eager packed crowd. With a perfect sunset as his background, The Weeknd gave a performance of familiar cuts like “High For This,” “The Birds (Part 1),” “Glass Table Girls,” and “D.D. (Dirty Diana),” while fans in attendance sang along word for word to his infectious hook on Drake’s “Crew Love.” The XO general showed no signs of slowing down as he continued with fan favorites such as “The Knowing,” and “The Zone.” Ending his smooth set, viewers were treated with an acoustic version of “Wicked Games.”
