The Source’s Rick Ross ‘Man of the Year” and Big Sean ‘Rookie of the Year’ Covers

The Source is starting 2012 off with a bang. For their Dec/Jan issue, the historic rap mag recruited both Rick Ross and Big Sean for two covers. Rozay is seen on one in some kind of yellow fur thing. I guess they murked Big Bird. Rugnnhh!
“I went and seen an actual neurologist to tell me what was really going on. My condition was basically extreme exhaustion,” says the boss on his seziure, “…it was a real eye-opener for me.”
Big Sean lost his shirt and hopped on the other cover. The homie Kaz spoke to him all on his personal issues, including his sexual harassment case. You can read both cover stories on Dec. 27th.

Man of the Year in hip hop is a pretty big acclaim…I just dont know if Ross fits that for 2011. congrats to Big Sean although I rather J. Cole get that ROTY title

william talks about having this amazing criminal past but never talks about graduating school, going to university to study criminal justice, working as a c.o, not getting in trouble with the law untill 2008. funny thing is all the stuff he does talk about has been proved lies cause he been exposed so many times. his fans dont seem to understand that its all a marketing scheme aimed at the young people cause they think that lifestyle and being bad is cool. William is probably a really nice person off camera and is obviously intelligent. he makes great music but i just wish he would tell his own story and be himself. then he would be respected. but i guess his pride and the fact his made some money wont let him. oh well his time will soon end and then another will replace him.

I smell something fishy. funny how 50cent has been gracing 5 xxl covers. does the source feel that they have to compete,thus shitting on there credibility for namingofficer ross man of the year? .when there are other rappers who did more big things this year for hiphop. maybe jay z should’ve been given that title. I dont know,but I know this fat cop dont deserve it. R.I.P source magazine……

That is all tru but you and I know if he jumped on the screen telling his real story no one would of took him serious and he would of just been another rapper. Hip Hop is weird on who they let pass and who doesn’t. But I think at the end of the day if they make good music they make good music and the fans support.

Meek doesnt even exist on the west coast. Big Sean has been on tour, gets radio play everywhere and sold out shows across the country. Meek Mill has not reached that level yet. J. Cole is the only other person that is having the same type of success as a rookie right now.

I was in the 8th Grade when DMX first album came out and I remember it vividly. Meek Mill doesn’t have one tenth of the Buzz DMX had. When DMX came out it was undisputed that he was hottest rapper out. J. Cole and Big Sean aren’t street rappers. I feel J. Cole is conscience and Big Sean is amongst newly un-categorized rappers like Wale and Wiz khalifa. They’ll rap about about anything just to rap.
