Following the commercial success of his debut album good kid, m.A.A.d city, it comes as no shock that The Source has pegged Kendrick Lamar as The Rookie of The Year. King Kendrick graces their latest cover and joins the ranks of Wiz Khalifa and Big Sean, who were named rookies years prior. The Source has also released a promo video with interview excerpts in which K.Dot recalls the first time he was inspired to become a rapper:
“First song I remember hearing is Dr. Dre’s “Let Me Ride.” When did I realized I wanted to become a musician? 16. First time I heard my vocals played back through the speakers, I was sold. Getting into the booth allows me to express myself without lashing out… I can get in the booth and express all them feelings.”

If he’s the rookie of the year then why does he have a crown on his head?? They should’ve put that in the background….because he’s aspiring…These magazines are running out of ideas… definitely reaching
