yay but weird, yay, yay, yay but aww, yay but please no speeches, yay but how long will that set be, yay, ehh, dunno, yay but sigh, double yay but whatever happened to all this?, dunno, yay blocka blocka blocka, cool, dunno, dunno, not sure, huh?, cool, good, ehh, dunno, dunno, good, cool, dunno, dunno…..
wowza. That’s gonna be a long day! I had a great time last year, (backstage photos, Nas and Jay-Z, and a Tribe Called Quest) but I do hope that other members of the family arent cordoned off in some weird outcast yard for press….The section was off by a parking lot, you could just wait there until a set interview time but then you had to go back there and watch the show on a monitor or something insane like that. But like I said, I was blessed to be with my peoples…I just hope that part has been improved upon.
Also…i think brand nubian would be a good “special guest” no? Puba has a new album and the group has been performing together….yup, that’s my add-on prediction : )

Organized Konfusion would be better reunion performance than House of Pain.

Ok….can i show up in the middle of this? like when eyedea leaves the stage? La coka nostra AND house of pain..does anybody need that much everlast in their lives? I like lcn tho. ok no tribe so hopefully we’ll get brand nubian or somebody. what the hell is pete rock and cl’s f’n problem? this would be perfect! and what if that nas and damian marley album isn’t out yet? will that just be weird? I’m looking forward to this

I tend to avoid festivals because it seems like it’s too much all at once. I feel like there’s all these great acts going on simultaneously, and I’d have to choose between acts that I love equally.
Is this what Rock the Bells is like? Or, is there one stage where everyone performs one after the other.
Plus, the fact that it is an all day thing keeps me away as well.
Anyone’s thoughts would be greatly appreciated. And by anyone, I mean anyone who’s been to Rock the Bells.

this lineup is ridiculous. why is nas headlining? he goes every year.who is k’naan?is it going to be just big boi or is andre going too? and why the hell is tech 9 going to rtb? these are all questions they someone should have asked before allowing this lineup.

i dont think anything will compare to tribe, mos def, talib, jay-z, nas, busta, wu-tang, EPMD, blacksheep, and literally every other MC from new york ever performing “Award Tour” together at the end of last years show. part of me feels like this year isnt even worth it after seein last year. anyone who went to the jones beach show knows exactly what i mean

This lineup does seem meek compared to last year. I was at Jones Beach…front row… nothing will ever beat that show in my eyes, but this one doesn’t even come close…House of Pain…can’t wait for the two good songs they had…KRS should be sick, but he’ll get 20 minutes. Last year was a can’t miss line-up…this year is an, “ok whatever” line up. I will probabl;y still go, but will be nowhere as excited as I was last year!

I went to the concert last yr in Tinley Park, IL and it was a long day (like 11 am to 11 pm) but SOOOOO worth it! It was probably the best concert I’ve ever been too no lie. Each act went one after the other on the same stage and the energy was just amazing with great music. I would def. recommend any true hip hop head to go this yr!!!

House of pain had three albums that kicked the shit out most of the crap that is out there today. Everlast is a multi-talented artist not just one dimentional, and yes it would be awesome to have him up there tearing shit up. Plus, La Coka, that is back to the hardcore bang your head shit, unlike alot of the same whiney crap that just keeps on being played on the radio. Go back and listen to the last House of Pain album if you have never heard it, you trip out. It’s got a tone that makes you want to kick some ass, at the same time sit back and smoke some nice kush.

u people are stupid.. ithey jus use the house of pain name to draw ppl in cus ppl might not be aware of la coka nostra which is obv.. there gonna do one song.. jump around and the rest will be to promote the new la coka nostra album.. if u diss la coka nostra ya;ll are stupid…
dissing tech n9ne as well??? he throws one of the best live shows in all of hip hop hes also one of the top indie artists right now
and this might be my last year attending rtb’s. pulling raekwon rza and busta rhymes from the show a few days before the event is some BULLSHIT.. that surprise guest better be the wu-tang clan or they lost me… a month ago i coulda got over it but days.. i bought tickets because of all 3 of them.. its messed up

so….the show at Jones was aiiight…nothing like last year, but who could top that…tech 9 was sick…coka nostra was pretty good, but saint had them pegged…a bunch of new stuff from an album none of us are going to buy…Common was amazing and a glimpse of Talib was all we got (no eternal reflection this year!) WU was a welcomed surprise and they did work, but it was def a short set…headed to paid dues to check MOP, they didn’t disappoint…roots are nothing special, they should keep doing talk shows! big boi was mad good…didn’t expect much, but he delivered…Nas and Damian killed it for real! D Block was nice, but it was all about Nas last night!!! Overall it was a good show (best hip hop show of the summer as always)…oh wait…only hip hop show of the summer…sorry!
