The Muppets Spoof ‘The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo’, and Collaborate With Opening Ceremony

As campy and disastrous as some remakes can be…others rise to the occasion, usually by not taking themselves too seriously. Case in point: The Muppets are back in theaters this Thanksgiving, but rather than just updating them with like tight jeans, an adderal dependency, and a Kardashian…The Muppets made a spoof of that much hyped Girl With a Dragon Tattoo trailer: The Pig With The Froggy Tattoo
It ain’t easy being green….especially with faux David Fincher tense edits and Trent Reznor speedpunk beats, lol!
I love the first youtube comment: “Based on the famous Swedish novel, ‘Bork bork bork bork’”
And what’s even more genius? The limited edition Muppets x Opening Ceremony fashion collaboration! You can buy the pieces at their stores, and get more details on their blog…. here’s a close-up of the awesome “Animal”-print button-down that my sister copped. Totally subtle and hilarious!
Compare The Muppets‘ spoof with the real Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trailer…
And see more photos of Opening Ceremony x The Muppets….

Obviously, I’m totally amped for this movie too. I thought the original Swedish version did a fantastic job of visualizing the book. But the lead actress Rooney Mara has some monstrous Doc Martens to fill in matching the original’s Noomi Rapace. Speaking of movies…I gotta write up some thoughts on the screening of Drive which I saw at BAM last night. Along with the fantastic Q&A with director Nicholas Winding Refn. So good.
Come on….this is cutest thing ever!

I saw the Swedish version also. Looks like it will have nothing on The Muppets! Here’s the trailer to the Hangover 2 Spoof aka The Fuzzy Pack http://youtu.be/WRxDqakiw3I

I saw all 3 films. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl who played with Fire and The Girl that kicked the Hornet’s Nest. Noomi Rapace was incredible in all three and totally believable. Not the mention the storylines was fascinating. They were subtitled since the originals are from Sweden but highly full of action. I’m not sure what the american version can do to make the movie even more interesting, but I will be in line to watch on Christmas. hehe lata
