I’ll always consider Black Moon’s debut album as a classic. Rap fans may argue over it’s prominence, but winning combination of Buckshot, 5 FT and DJ Evil Dee deserves to be recognized as one of NYC’s best 90s rap groups. Before Buck and Dru Ha officially established Duck Down as one of NYC’s premier Indy rap labels, Black Moon was signed to Nervous records, where they released Enta Da Stage (’93). The album also introduced to the world to Smiff-N-Wessun. Filmed & edited by Guy Blelloch with additional footage by Shane Gill, The Beginnings breaks down the making of Black Moon’s seminal debut album.
