The Good Ol’ Days: Jay-Z and Nas at the Tunnel, etc

Choke dug up an goodie.
Flex knows the Tunnels was my bungee jumping equivalent, lol. If I had a scanner, I’d find the old backdrop pics and share ; )
And where is that old Vibe Magazine feature…..hmm
PS: Oh s–t, Jay-Z and Dame Dash at the Palladium nightclub too? After the jump….
Those stage performances were pacing and an occasional crotchgrab, lol! The analog version of stage acts. But Hov was still killin’ it before the supermoguldom. Sometime more organic about those times….but let me not get all grumpyoldman : )
youtube is the best and worst thing, ain’t it.

I’m confused about that second clip – the banner said it was 1997 but Jay’s mesh shirt is telling me it’s 1987.

nas and jay should do a tour world tour like the heart of the city tour no doubt that will be crazzyyy!!

December 23rd, 2008 at 3:55 am

December 23rd, 2008 at 8:29 am
Memories! I was at both!
You’re gonna make me roll up and L and call Chris Latimer for an AACA Hoodie to rock (minus the twist tie hat please).
December 23rd, 2008 at 8:32 am
Wait, scratch that… my style timing was off… hmm, wtf was 1997 on.
Damn. I can’t even remember.
Was it style-less?
Possibly.
All I can remember is shiny suited rappers and do-rags as fashion.
Damn.
December 23rd, 2008 at 10:37 am
damn they dead ass threw real money like that? what rapper u kno nowaday that would do such a kind gesture LMAO!!
December 23rd, 2008 at 12:27 pm
lol, I got that old issue of Vibe somewhere. It had Mase on the cover.
I remember reading that article on the Tunnel and thinking damn, now that’s a club I’d like to hit. I was under 21 at the time so I’m not even sure I’d of been able to get in.
Many hate the success Jay has but that nigga stayed on his grind to get where he’s at. Rappers should grind like Jay and then complain if nothing pops.
December 23rd, 2008 at 12:33 pm
@what ever: thanks. i knew irv gotti produced “can i live” off the first album just didn’t he dj’d for jay as well. next time i will do a better job of Knowing my history.
December 23rd, 2008 at 3:18 pm
