The Emmy Awards: 4 Kanye-Gate references, no wins

I love love love TV. (its a one-way affair.) So I tuned into the Emmys even though very rarely does anything interesting happen. I like the sparkly dresses and that Jon Hamm guy knows how to rock a suit. But the lame and numerous attempts to reference last week’s Kanye-Gate fiasco were tiring. Neil Patrick Harris=fail, Jimmy Fallon=fail, Justin Timberlake=fail, Ken Howard=fail (but extra credit for being hip for an old white guy), who else was there?
The high point was when Julia Louise-Dreyfus and Amy Poehler came out and Julia said: “Amy and I are honored to be presenting on the last official year of network broadcast television.”
The low point was Justin Timberlake’s unfortunate hair dressing.
more fashion good and bad after the jump…

too mature, too busy, too red.

my favorite 2nd-career post-sitcom actress, Mila Kunis (Leaving Sarah Marshall and The Family Guy)…but this outfit is a little too Christina Ricci. Maybe its the length. Looks odd, especially with those closed toe heavy pumps

Apparently Mila Kunis’s dress is “tea length” which is supposed to mean hitting between the calf and the ankle but it just looks like it’s mad flooding.

yeah tea length doesnt work well on shorter figures. And I just think it always requires a more delicate heel too. Not necessarily a high heel, but not clunky. like a princess heel on a strappy sandal?

Those ABC news people are idiots. First off it’s so obvious he meant to fall. And second I don’t think the auto-tune was directed at Kanye as much as it is to 90 percent of the songs on the radio.

Is it me or is Jennifer Lopez as a whole is a relic of the early 2000’s? She belongs in the time capsule with two ways and velour sweat suits.

drake) i see what you saying but, i don’t think he fell on purpose, i think it was accident, you can see that after he fell, he tried to play it cool, drake isn’t that big yet, nobody knows him, i don’t think they would understand what he was talking about.

The Kanye jokes were hilarious. I’m tired of people defending his behavior. He’s getting exactly what he deserves. I’ll never understand the obligation to defend disrespectful behavior. R. Kelly, DMX, Chris Brown, and now Kanye.

And this is whats wrong with the whole Kanye backlash. How are R. Kelly, DMX and Chris Brown in the same category with Kanye? Those 3 nigga’s actually broke the law, Kanye was just rude. NOBODY has defended Kanye’s behavior but the media reaction has been a bit overboard to say the least.

Word? Did you really just compare Kanye to R Kelly and Chris Brown? Im pretty sure he didnt beat anybody or pee on a 14 year old girl lol He just told everybody he thought Beyonce had a better video lol. It was a horrible move no doubt but people need to let it go.

Jimmy Fallon always seems like he knows he’s not funny and he just can’t figure why people keep hiring him.

Miss info, ??? I dont get that. Network tv will never end bc it is FREE. Not every1 is even able 2 afford basic $25 cable, so nbc, fox, cbs, abc, upn/wb will always exits. I didnt get cable until I went 2 college, & when I went back home it was no cable. To this day, my parents have no cable.
I think Justin’s hair is fine. If he goes blonde then we should all call him out.

well that’s a good point and I do think that the “insiders” discount the influence of “mass media” ie non-cable tv, tabloids and radio. But within the TV industry there’s alot of talk about how even basic cable networks are taking all the ratings away, and syndication dollars are nothing compared to what they used to be….

missinfo: Wow thanks for replying!
Those insiders need to open their eyes. If ppl dont like what is on tv they wont watch. Online is big,& will just get bigger.
For those who dont have cable, but do have the inet, they have a vga card or a tv tuner card and just watch the cable shows they want from the internet on their tv screen, bypassing the cable company. The cord might cost $50 but in the long run it is cheaper as they dont have to to $50 every month!
I really dont feel bad that syndication $ is lower now. In the 90s channels OVERPAID big time for shows like friends, seinfeld, & all them other moderately funny anglo show.
