The Clipse rip Hiro Ballroom: “So I could care less if Jay say it…”
Posted by Mikey Fresh under beef , concerts , exclusives , good for hip hop , new music , quotes , videos[32] Comments
Mikey: The Clipse bros took over Hiro Ballroom last night, headlining the Myspace show with openers Donnis, Pill, etc. They performed classic and new album tracks (i.e. “What Happened to That Boy”, “Kinda Like a Big Deal”) and mixtapes cuts. But about half way through their set, Pusha T cut the beat off for this acapella…
Miss Info: Ok, so 1st off, I’m sick that I missed this show…. Clipse rhymes make me wanna punch a baby…but after reading tweets (Yes, yours, Lowkey) me and Mikey were debating if there are shots here…And if so, are they aimed at Hov or at other Hov-approved rappers (Wayne? Drake?)?
UPDATE:
Miss Info: Ahh, thank you to twitter pal Pyth Power Move for saving my sanity…I was struggling to transcribe ’til he reminded me and Mikey that this verse was from “Big Dreams” off the Road to Till the Casket Drops Mixtape! Doh….it’s late, we’re tired. But on a plus note, check tomorrow morning for a lil “popeyes” ; )
Pusha T: “Pre-pay rappers, with no minutes, the real niggas limit, they mimic, they H-O-V lane it, they don’t pin it (?), the difference is the Blue Magic ain’t in it…”
To he to claims to be the heir, how dare Pusha nay say it/them n—-as hear me and they may day it/ so I could care less if Jay say it/its too too political when Jay say it/he play’ the game, just instant replay it. The Best Duo Ever, I hang man these words together…
Dec 8th, album of the year. We heard all that s–t that dropped, f–k all that shit…”
After the jump…peep more footage from The Clipse at Hiro Ballroom…

“they H-O-V lane it, don’t *pen it” -Pusha T
*It was pen instead of pin. He was talking about how no one writes anymore.
“H-O-V, I got my own lane already” – Jay-Z
lol I don’t know if that’s what made Jay write that line but Jay is very slick with his.

sounds like a diss to Wayne to me. Jay refered to Wayne as his heir on Mr. Carter.

I think the line is:
They H-O-V lane it, the don’t pen it….meaning nobody is writing lyrics down anymore but they can’t do it like Jay. Sounds like they getting at Wayne, since Jay also was saying that Wayne was next up at the time.

First off Mixtape rocks, and I didn’t even take it as a dis (Especially toward Jay) from day one.
They HOV LANE and don’t get it, the differnece the Blue Magic ain’t in it!!
To he to claims to be the heir, how dare Pusha nay say it/them n—-as hear me and they may day it/ so I could care less if Jay say it/its too too political when Jay say it/he play’ the game, just instant replay it.
I remember one time Jay saything something like, “I guess Wayne is next because that’s what the people say” That’s not showing really answering the question. Pusha is saying Jay is just going along with the public option (lol), but that’s not really is dis.
Also, Drake was nowhere when this verse first came out!

Shows how much a fan you really are Info. That freestyle was from “Road to Til The Casket Drops” mixtape. And it’s def about the niggas Jay chooses to co-sign. But he gets it which is why he says, “it’s to political when Jay say it.”

My fault then, I didn’t read any of that shit. Just saw the line and knew what it was about. Or at least assumed, lol. But my point is that mixtape dropped almost a year ago no need to analyze the shit NOW. We were doing that last year. #weoffthat #Imjustsayin

Basically shots at those that try to claim being Jay’s lane since he don’t write (And the obvious politics around it because Jay doesn’t call out the BS either). Also a shot at fake coke rappers.
Yes, it’s a shot at Wayne because he falls under a couple categories said. (Pusha dropped a nasty line on ‘em in WGIFC Vol 3) Also he’s taking a jab at people that can’t think for themselves in hip hop and just go off anything Jay say.
Til The Casket Drops!

He’s throwing shots at Wayne and he is refering to Jay’s cosign of Wayne on Mr.Carter. “To he to claims to be the heir” he refering to Wayne …..”how dare Pusha nay say it” hes saying who am i to refute this. BUT THEN HE COME BACK AND SAYS “hem n—-as hear me and they may day it/ so I could care less if Jay say it” BASICALLY SAYING NIGGA HEAR MY VERSES AND CHANGE THEIR MINDS ABOUT WAYNE BEING BEST SO HE CAN CARE LESS ABOUT JAY SAYING WAYNES THE “HEIR TO THE THRONE” ON MR.CARTER. “ts too too political when Jay say it/he play’ the game, just instant replay it” HERE HE’S SAYING JAY-Z IS ONLY GOING WITH THE POPULAR OPINION OF THE FANS BY SAYING WAYNE IS HEIR AND HES BEING POLITICAL AND NOT SPEAKING WHAT HE REALLY FEELS………..

It def was a shot at Wayne. On the previous mixtape ( we got it 4 cheap vol. 3) track # 2 pusha also took a shot at Wayne ” I’m sorry but I don’t respect who you applauding/ little nigga flow but his metaphors boring/ don’t make turn daddy’s lil to an orphan/ that would I have to kill ‘Baby’ like abortion.

I think its a shot at wayne they’ve had some resentment to wayne and those who prematurely crown him as the heir to this so called hip-hop crown it’s been going on for a while now. And I agree with you Info Clipse rhymes make me want to punch babies too LOL I saw em out on long Island not too long ago freakin amazing.

I’m very happy that Pusha is FINALLY getting noticed for his lyricism.

yep on 2nd listen clipse are def taking another wayne shot they’re not saying anything that hasn’t been said before though, that wayne is trying way to hard to be the new improved jay-z but isn’t up to the task hence the whole H.O.V. lane comment and addressing the whole Mr. Carter thing as Jay just playing nice and going with popular opinion at the time that Wayne could be that dude in the next few years. Just the usual jabs nothing to get anyones panties in a bunch about. But I do kinda agree with them this wayne thing seems like a trend to me one that burns hot then gets played then burns out and fizzles over time. Like DMX and that whole ruff Ryder thing incredible success for a short stretch but over just as quickly as it started hip-hop is riddled with examples of this.

I don’t even know why if Pusha’s getting at Wayne is even being debated first off this is old it’s from 08 Pusha said his name one We Got It 4 Cheap Vol. 3 in 2007 on Show You How To Hustle already enough said that was for Wayne. Pusha has jabbed Wayne plenty of times on that mixtape for example he said and I quote “Don’t make me turn daddy’s little girl into an orphan that would mean I’d have to kill Baby like abortion” and “Katrina is measly to hurricane Pezzy!”
