‘The Avengers’ is the Fanboy Motherlode: Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America, and More (New Trailer)

Ooo, new Avengers trailer!
This looks good. I mean, then again, all glossy big budget hyper-edited trailers trick us into thinking that, but still…the upcoming Avengers movie is like a posse cut of other blockbusters. There’s Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson)…..and as the villain, Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Thor’s slightly effeminate evil brother. I watched Thor recently, and totally enjoyed the campy muscle-milk action of it. So sparkly! LOL.
But another reason why fanboys are salivating over this upcoming Avengers flick is because it’s directed by Joss Whedon, of Buffy the Vampire Killer, and Serenity fame. Comes out May of 2080. Not really….actually just 2012. I guess it’ll do while we grow old waiting for that next Batman.

A super-action movie with Loki as the antagonist? You can’t be serious…when the movie is about to come out, Loki had better be teamed up with some serious baddies because he was never a baddie like the way he’s been promoted in this clip, let alone in the Thor movie.

Yeah, Loki always moved thru using others but I think Marvel has some surprises in store for us.

Even though I lean more towards the Mutant groups then the Avengers I’ll be front and center when this drops. Rumor of other villians (Thanos or Skrulls) along with Loki has me real curious. But let me not get into full nerd mode on the blog today.
1 Question. Will you be at Comic Con this weekend?

It’s disturbing that Ed Norton is not playing the Hulk.

I totally agree….how many Hulks are we gonna have before we just give up on that character. I actually liked Bana as Hulk. Then Norton…and now Ruffalo? Come on.

well they didnt wanna do norton cuz he trys to ” direct ” and is not a team player… the only director he ever respected was david fincher. there was a big fight with him and the studio when they were doing american histroy x and that has followed him his entire career. i am a movie buff …

I liked the preview for J. Edgar Hoover, that’s looking like it might be the next classic movie. It hard not to be when you have Leonardo DiCaprio in it. Everything he’s been in lately has been classic.

I def am intrigued by Hoover….especially because it seems pretty clear that they’re dealing with his homosexuality, right? I remember my cousin (who is a super film buff) telling me about the latent innuendo in ‘Public Enemies’ and how Christian Bale’s character was supposed to be Hoover (Billy Crudup)’s mancrush….and when he rejected Hoover, he was cut off from his job and eventually killed himself. I hope I’m not totally messing up that story, lol.

I never noticed that but now that I go back and look at the trailer it does look like they are gonna hit on that at least a little bit. Clint Eastwood directs it to which I completely forgot, I pretty much can’t wait.
I also never realized that in Public Enemies. Now I feel like I should re-watch it, but I never was a big fan of that movie.
