Talib Kweli may have titled his new album Prisoner of Conscious to free him from that “conscious rapper” box, but don’t assume the BK MC isn’t still sharing his wisdom. The latest visual from his fifth solo LP follows the struggles of a single mother in the hood, with the message for her — and all of us — to “get up off that hamster wheel.” Take heed and pick up your copy of Prisoner of Conscious on iTunes.

Judging by his comments about former CTE boss Young Jeezy alone, Freddie Gibbs is a guy who tells it how it is. And in the new video for “Lay It Down,” Gangsta Gibbs provides a real, harsh look at his hometown of Gary, Indiana. Featuring Jay Rock, Problem, BJ The Chicago Kid and more, ESGN is out now.

Bay Area’s new kid on the block Iamsu! picks up where “Rep That Gang” left off, setting his new “Father God” video to a stunning desert backdrop. Of course, the clip also features dark religious imagery as ‘Su bows his head to the most high. Grab his new KILT 2 mixtape here if you’ve yet to do so. (Via RS)

Hodgy Beats may be a part of one of the tightest crews in hip-hop, but he’s on his solo dolo in his new “Alone” video, off last month’s Untitled 2 EP. Between burying himself neck-deep in sand and contemplating suicide with a cardboard pistol, the paranoia of schemers gets to the Odd Future MC in this Ian Flanagan-directed clip.
