T-Pain Thinks Future Needs Help With His Auto-Tune
Posted by Andy B. under beef , interview[10] Comments
After posting a picture on Instagram (which has since been deleted) claiming that it was his Bugatti that Future was seen by in Ace Hood’s “Bugatti” music video earlier this week, T-Pain has returned to ruffle more feathers. In a recent interview with Hot 93.7, Teddy Pain stated that he thinks Mr. Pluto doesn’t actually know how to use his trademark Auto-Tune. He did give Future credit for his songwriting, but said he believes the Atlanta rapper/singer hasn’t quite mastered the pitch correction device he made popular in Hip-Hop and R&B throughout the late ’00s. Let the war of wobbly words commence…
I don’t think Future gets the technology very well. I don’t think he understands how [Auto-Tune] actually works. He’s writing great songs. He’s a great writer. Keep in mind, you can use Auto-Tune and you can know how to work perfectly, but you still have to know how to write a good song. Just because he sound good doesn’t mean he’s saying good stuff. As far as how he uses Auto-Tune, I don’t think he knows how it works. I think he’s thinking that you just turn it on, and then it just happens.
A lot of people don’t sing with it, a lot of people just sing and then put it on after, which is a terrible mistake. There’s a lot of stuff you’ve gotta know about Auto-Tune before you can start using it, because it’s the hot thing to do. But Future’s still great right now, he’s doing his thing.
UPDATE: Future’s Free Bandz artist Doe Boy has chimed in with a T-Pain diss track. Fittingly enough, it’s a freestyle over Ace Hood’s “Bugatti.”

You cannot be serious. Saying Future is a good song writer is LUDICROUS.
I would quote some of his bars here but its really not worth my time

Having bars and writing songs are 2 totally different things…example, Cassidy has bars, but can’t make a hit song to save his life. Future can make great songs, but will never be considered a rapper. Give credit where credit is due. Hip hop isn’t what it used to be and will never be that way again…

what he’s saying is right. take any talent out of the equation, Future’s autotune skills are non-existent or “out-of-tune” autotune is what he is doing on purpose to create his own “sound”. sounds like trash either way.
