T.I. Covers XXL, explains reduced sentence: “I made myself a useful member of society”
Posted by Mikey Fresh under beef , photos , quotes[35] Comments
Mikey: T.I. covers the upcoming July/August issue of XXL where he once again refutes claims that he snitched and explains why he was granted a reduced sentence in his weapons case. Full issue drops on July 6th. (props MTV)
“What people don’t take into consideration is the reason that I was eligible for certain agreements that they weren’t eligible for was because I made myself a useful member of society,” T.I. tells XXL in the magazine’s July/August issue.
“Most muthaf—as catch cases and get time. My n—a, you wasn’t doing sh– when you was out here, so wasn’t no reason for them to keep you out here.”-

“Please understand the G code that I learned from, if you speak out your mouth that a muthaf—a is telling on somebody and you can’t come with indisputable, irrefutable facts to support that statement, that makes you the sucker,” T.I. said. “You are now in violation of the G code. And there ain’t nobody, nowhere in naan jail sayin’ I was on they paperwork.”

LOL
“Naan” is the flat bread you get at Indian/Afghan restaurants.
What TIP said was a southern pronunciation of the word “any/nary,” as in “nowhere in any/nary jail…”

im still not buying it, he must have done allot of cooperation with the polices investigation. there was nothing overly positive about Ti’s music, i can understand a a heavily reduced sentence but with a record like that…
wiki claims
T.I. was on probation stemming from a 1998 conviction for violating a state controlled substances act and for giving false information. After being released on probation, he earned a litany of probation violations in several counties around Georgia for offenses ranging from possession of a firearm to possession of marijuana.[21] In 2006, after appearing in an Atlanta court on (May 10) and having charges that he threatened a man outside a strip club last year dropped for lack of evidence, T.I. was arrested on an outstanding probation violation warrant from Florida. The warrant claimed that T.I. did not complete the required number of community service hours he was sentenced for a 2003 assault of a female sheriff deputy at University Mall in Tampa. T.I. was detained by several mall Security Guards at the time of the incident. According to WSB-TV Atlanta, the rapper’s attorney said that the problem was nothing more than a “technical matter” between Georgia and Florida. The confusion arose because T.I. was also sentenced to community service in Georgia for driving with a suspended license, for which he did complete 75 hours of community service in his home state. The rapper was released on bail shortly after being arrested, and was expected to surrender to Florida state authorities the following week to resolve the matter

if he snitched/cooperated its public record. his records arent sealed. people will stop thinking he snitched when they realize there was no one to be snitched on in his case. the guns were his, he was setup by his bodyguard he took the charge, did a lil time and thats it. hes not the first or last celeb to get a slap on the wrist. come on people

Nicky Barnes (Witness protection/relocation) snitched on his whole crew, Frank Lucas snitched on the NYPD. Both instances are public record! In Nicky’s case his crew violated their oath, and in Frank’s case he wanted to get back at the crooked officers that did him dirty. Basically use the system in his favor.
Not condoning/condemning what they did, but there are actual instances of the Kingpin/boss turning informant.

but my nigga is it not a logical question. if the prosecution was good money with just the bro’s testimony…why in the hell the did tip even have to take the stand? i mean i’ma fan of this dude so i rock with him but reporters be scared of his ass far as asking the tough questions…we all seen the vid of him taking the stand and POINTING HIS FINGER…so why doesn’t any reporter at least ever bring that up just to get some clarification on if that had anything to do with his light sentence. tip is always poised in his interviews and answers questions way better than like more than half of these non sensical rappers…but i guaruntee this one would have him tripped up.
hopefully IF MS INFO GETS THE CHANCE TO INTERVIEW HIM…she wont put the kid gloves on just rock out n move to the next question after he answers the obvious! DOUBT IT BUT WE’LL SEE

Lets put this in real life terms.
TI is a musician, thats his career. we let the media make rap to equal somthing negative like its sum illegal business or sumthin.
he makes music
he gets paid to make music
and he pay taxes on what he makes.
he raps so that makes him a rapper, the media like to make the word rapper to equal nigger, king pin, drug lord, scum of the earth (why else would they have a task force just for them)when in reality the rapper is just a tax paying musician.
now with all that sed
taxes…….our taxes goes to pay for various things including the police.
so if ur paying taxes, and it funds the police and ur no longer living a shady life or a life of crime then why wouldnt you take the stand in honor of YOUR fall solider/best friend/whatever business titles he had?
when busta bodyguard got killed and busta aint say shit busta looked like a str8 pussy……u let sum niggas body ya man in front of u, u dint talk to police (which i aint mad at) but u aint get the guy that body your man killed so……
in TI’s case he on the stand FACING the niggas that was trying to body HIM and killed his man. what “snitching” was TI doing. now if u saying TI told them to kill his dude and now he on the stand snitching on these guys for a lesser charge thats one thing, but in this case TI was a VICTIM of a crime, and i dont see how him wanting justice makes him a snitch.

didn’t tip punch this man in the face in a club isn’t that what led to the shooting like you said he’s a rapper ,tax I’m pretty sure he’s been in that kind of situation before with a bullshit beef about nothing and he know what the possible outcome would why swing on the guy why not do the rapper, tax payer, celebrity thing and let security handle things he got on some street shit and dealt with on some shit don’t cry victim but you say he does alot for the community and can respect the man for that not enough rappers give back and I agree with 100% on busta his bodygaurd died defending him and he did nothing

i aint hear about him snuffin no one in the club.
and when i say i dont fucks with police i dont
all that snitch shit is some bitch shit to me. when i was small u got beat for doin wrong and the sibling that told got beat for running they mouth so
i dont wanna come across like i co-sign that. but i do co-sign being smart, and if you aint gonna handle this in the streets then u might as well let the guys that u ultimatley pay to handle it.
even HIM going with the body guard that set him up to get the guns to me was dumb cause u posed to have ur little guys handle that, he too rich to be…….scratch dat, he got to much to lose to be getting his hands dirty.
TI shit….philant peoples can rest ez
busta shit….the body guards peoples was all in the news draggin busta

Actual FACT!
ignorant dudes running around with tricknowledge. Shit that can get innocent people killed over. Like others are saying, the cases are public knowledge. There are books on this shit, blogs, magazines (DonDiva, etc.). 50 didn’t say anything new in Ghetto Quran that wasn’t already known, if thats the case, 50 dry-snitched on himself on ManyMen regarding Hamo.
Im fascinated about the Preme Team, Fat Cat, Ronny Bump shit cause I grew in Soutside Queens in the 80s and a lot of the shit I saw I didn’t understand then, now that I’m older and the hood has changed and the fact that I don’t live there now.
From my understanding Preme came home from the shit he did in the 80s and got sent back to the pin cause of the new bodies(E. Money Bags/Survelliance of the hitmen following E around was found during a raid on a stash house in B-More) he was connected to and the money laundering shit with Murder Inc. Dude was about to make motion picture versions of them Donald Goines books.

If you believe this dude didn’t cut major deals with the feds and spill some serious information I got bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. I don’t give a fuck WHO you are, with prior felonies (which he NEVER went to jail for btw) and all that ammo, that dude was supposed to do MAJOR time. No way around it. The sent Wayne away for one gun. This dude had an arsenal.
Don’t believe the hype. AlphaMega was dropping jewels.

My man…if you think Preachers and congressmen can you reduced federal charges (that’s plural) in Georgia when you have multiple silencers (which carry a five+ sentence PER SILENCER) and all kinds of illegal assault rifles then, not to start beef, but you are pretty damn sheltered and read to many rap magazines and blogs.
I don’t care if you call Creflo, Eddie Long and Shirley Franklin….that shit is NOT happening. I know TIP has done alot in the community there and I commend him for that but there were deals cut to get him out in less than YEAR. If you think otherwise you are crazy.
This cat did what he had to do and if that meant giving up some real information then that’s what it is. But stop with the “it would be on the internet” bullshit and “he had preachers and congressmen make calls” dumb shit. Don’t go thru life like the ones who took the blue pill.
Again, AlphaMega was dropping jewels.

then how bout you tell us what deals was cut. u saying everyone else comments is dumb so how bout proving yours

I don’t think you actually followed the case, seriously. The guns weren’t in his house, he got arrested as a part of a sting operation, the body-guard/informat was delivering the guns to T.I. and the feds swarmed on him. Its one thing if T.I. was caught selling the guns or they were in his car/tour bus, loaded and had bodies on them.
Get off that ignorant shit about the internet. If you paid attention in school you would know there is something called references aka other sources that back up the info posted.
Dude had the mayor of ATL vouch for him and numerous other people besides church leaders (who play major roles in the black community).
Did you actually do the knowledge to the amount of non-profit/churches/schools/at-risk youth Clifford J. Harris spoke to before going in? Dude has to undergo random house raids, random audits, all this is part of his plea deal. Trust me he didn’t get off lightly, like its been stated before, he can do more for the community on the outside than he could on the inside.
Please show me these jewels, cause I didn’t catch any.

Alpa was saying some real shit in that video clip. Take it or leave it.
Of course I don’t know what deals were cut but if you are really believing that with all that ammo AND felonies in your past you can get less than a year in jail, then you are being naive.
The only way you can reduce MANDATORY jail time is by cutting deals. Silencers and assault weapons carry mandatory charges. No if ands or buts. So doesn’t matter if you have every preacher in the state of Georgia coming out for you and the old and new mayor. It’s a FEDERAL charge fam. Not state. So I’m saying that for the feds to reduce multiple sentences like that deals were cut. Do I know what those deals were? No I don’t. But it’s impossible to get out of that type of jams because people wrote letters.

S7 Reply:

since you know its impossible to get out that type of jam w/ the feds. You must have references of other cases on file that you know of where someone was in the same predicament as T.I. and didn’t get off with a lighter sentence? You posting like you work for the FEDs or you work in the courts filing cases and shit.
By the way I ignored that shit about “living a sheltered life” cause you really don’t know me fam.

I don’t think you read the case carefully. They busted Tip, Tiny, and the bodyguard outside of Rite Aid or wherever BUT they also got search warrants for his crib. They busted in while his kids were there and that’s where they found all the crazy guns and silencers that he had. Do you not remember this??
Fam it doesn’t matter if he had the mayor vouching for him. And yes I am aware of all the things he does for the community in the A. I stated that earlier. I know he builds low income housing with his uncle and does tons of charity work. DOESN’T MATTER FAM. They were FEDERAL CHANGES for the 3rd time. Not state charges. Fed charges are a whole other animal. Especially when you have prior felonies.
So AGAIN, if you think cause Shirley Franklin and some pastors made some calls the Fed would drop serious gun charges that carry mandatory sentences you are sadly mistaken. The only way that happens is if deals are cut. PERIOD.
June 16th, 2010 at 11:43 pm
dudes right tho, if you aint got some proof of the informing and you runnin arouond makin accusations then you a fool, and possibly a target. In my neighborhood, marfuckers demand to hear tapes and shit to disprove someone didnt inform. If the shit exists it will surface, otherwise STFU.

I really don’t care if TI snitched. But I don’t like that he calls himself the king. TI is average at best and I’m from the south and I’ve never heard anyone refer to him as the king of the south. He just sounds like an asshole when he’s quoted as saying that that title when only be passed on when he says it will. I mean I don’t know who gassed this fool up but he’s no king to me.
