#SXSW Grand Finale: Prince and A Tribe Called Quest Killed It! (Video)
Posted by Mikey Fresh under Videos[3] Comments

I have exactly 5 minutes to write this before I need to leave for the airport, so I’ll make it short and simple. On Saturday night, Prince and A Tribe Called Quest absolutely killed Samsung’s #TheNextBigThing Concert. I’ve been attending shows since Tuesday, and this was hands down the best show of SXSW (in my opinion). Tribe started it off with all the classics, and the fellas genuinely looked like they were enjoying every minute of their set, which says a lot. Then, there was Prince. Backed by a 22-piece band, the legend was electrifying to say the least, the very least. I’ve never witnessed a show like that before. He owned every band member, and could read and command each one with a simple look. The man did 6 encores. For anybody who attends rap shows regularly—-a Prince show will change your perspective on concerts.

I can’t deny that I’m envious. Wow, what a line-up. I actually got to see ATCQ back in the late 90’s as a youngin.
Prince tho?
wow
Rap concerts are terrible & any concert by any other genre will make you realize how bad they are at using the mics, sound and showmanship.
KRS-1, Nas & ATCQ put on good shows tho

” biggie and the creation of hip hop” ?!?! Are you fucking lunar? Hip hip had roots far before biggie, Jesus Christ lady are you young, stupid or both? Hip hop is not a genre, it’s a life style.
