Snowman Talk Pt2: the original Azie tells GasFaceTV why he didn’t like the film Paid in Full

We See You Jockin Azie !!! (Snowman Talk Part.2) from Gasface on Vimeo.
The Gasface TV crew sent over the followup to the cliffhanger I posted earlier this week of their interview with Harlem hustler Azie Faison. In this part, he talks more about his drug game past, Jay-Z namedropping drug dealer Rich Porter, and his opinion on Paid in Full…all while they sat in front of the school where Rich Porter’s younger brother was kidnapped (which was depicted in the movie Paid in Full.)
“Some of these names I run from. ‘Yo, that used to be a kingpin. He’s a legend.’ Nah, I’m none of that. People look up to you for doing wrong. I try to tell these kids, stop looking up to the wrong heroes….that’s how I tried to write the first movie, trapped. Which they turned into Paid in Full. But to me that was Damien [sic] Dash and them trying to promote a rapper, Cam’ron. Alpo…..this story was supposed to say stop, repent, wake up young world…..its like if we throw somehting in the garbage, it might be worth billions. But if we put it in the garbage, we put it in the garbage for a reason….”
I can understand how the players in the real life story can feel like a movie manipulated their truth for the sake of Hollywood. That seems to be the case very often. Like the movie American Gangster was accused of blatantly bending facts too. But….as a viewer with half a brain watching Paid in Full; as “glamorous” as the heyday kinda sorta seemed, by the time the movie was over, I was pretty clear on how the lifestyle was a dead end. I guess some folks can’t be trusted to make that leap, but then I think they’ve got bigger problems than these movies.

nobody gets the ending of paid in full , Cam’ron wasnt acting at the end , he was sending shots to azie lol sayin “he gon styll be the king of harlem” nobody in harlem respects azie cause hes a snitch , i respects him tho kus he did what he had to do , i think thats the whole reason azie is mad , cause the ending. if the ending was different this video wouldnt be here righ now.

Sending shots at Azie? WTF??
Nobody respects Azie cause he’s a snitch? Who did Azie snitch on??
Camron’s character in real life was Alpo.. he was the snitch.

it’s part of the message: “make love, not war.”
anyway, I get where Azie’s coming from. Obviously Dame Dash was gonna take that movie and make it appealing. It’s a shame but that’s what it is.

This gives you insight into why Jay-Z didn’t really want to be tied to ‘Dash Films’
Its amazing that alot of shit is comin’ out about Dame Dash
As much as you’d think that people would want to come at Jay, they gettin’ at Dame for dirt he did behind the scenes
BigUps to Azie for actually bringing the real story to light cause he coulda just let sleepin’ dogs ly an leave the streets to spin the truth as they see fit as many ‘O.G.’z’ tend to do, which is not quite right for the Numbskulls & Fanatics in the streets.

The story Azie told in this part and the second part is almost the EXACT story told in the film. Dame did not completely change his story..
This is a movie…It has to be made appealing in order to be good. The story says BASED ON TRUE EVENTS. It has to ahve a fiction element to it.
Azie doesnt do films so he doesnt understand that. If he wanted to do a documentry and tell his story just straight forward then he should have done that. However, a film always has a fiction element to it and its almost 100% with what he said happened. The only thing is it glorified what he did more so than put a dark cloud over it the way he wanted.
But…I dont feel like it did that. I like the way it ended with alpo in jail and him changing his life and laughing at the fake rappers. I think it did tell that story..
But the person who the film is about is always gonna want perfection and thats not possible.
He would not have made a better movie. Trust me. And the reason people run up to him thinking hes a legend is because Dame Dash made him look good and SMART cause he handled shtuff right and got OUT the game. Thats why hes admired and he doesnt even know that.
The film cant be perfect. Hes just crying over spilled milk if u ask me and paid in full is one of the best street stories and it came off the realist.

dash made that shit look appealing to the youth like good fellas did 12 years prior to paid in full, u dont have to mix in fiction to tell a true story and not have it appeal to a young mind, that is what azie is trying to preach….not everything has to be dumbed down or tricked like trick97 did with hiphop to appeal to a wider mass of people to sell something. You shouldn’t have to add spice to a true story just to make money.
