Sneakerheads: Upcoming Jordan 3 to Feature “Nike Air” on the Back
Posted by Mikey Fresh under photos[20] Comments
It seems like Nike has really heard the cries and complaints from diehard sneakerheads. Jordan fans will be happy to know that the company has decided to bring back the coveted “Nike Air” logo that came on the back of OG Jordans. The majority of the re-releases have come out without this, and only feature a jumpman and the word “air” on the back. There’s no telling if more Js will feature this logo or if it’s just a one off for yet another release of the Jordan III white cement, but we’ll keep you updated. Look out for these to drop sometime in Spring 2013.
This special release will in fact come with a nice commemorative back-story, with Jordan’s 1988 Slam Dunk Contest win possibly at focus (perhaps a February release). Is this a sign of things to come? Will Nike Air make a return with more AJ3 original colorways, as well as the IV, V, and VI? -Sneakernews

@Mikey Fresh, the sneakerheads are actually VERY pissed about this. It makes it hard to differentiate between the hypebeasts that cop the re-releases and the “REAL” heads that get the OG’s..

is that you Gentry?
whoever has a pair of these with ‘NIKE AIR’ and hasn’t worn them yet, isn’t an “OG” he’s a museum curator and all around weirdo. I think 15 years is enough time for people to actually beat a pair of sneakers, calm down.

Agreed x 1,000,000
And I own the OGs. They’re beautiful, but unwearable. You can’t wear 20+ year old Jordans without them falling apart. I’d much rather have some new joints that I can actually wear out.

1. who the fuck is Gentry?
2. the original Jordan’s before they were rereleased as Jumpmans are referred to as “OG’s” (I wasn’t referring to the people that own/wear them.. moron)
3. I’m not calm? I wasn’t even speaking my opinion. I read about this on an ACTUAL sneaker blog and everyone in the comments was pissed. I was just giving a head’s up.. moron.

I know to each their own but really now…You know there is something wrong in our society when we kill for leather and rubber sneakers, When we place the amount of J’s we own on a higher priority list then the amount of businesses and property we can own. This is mos def troubling indeed.

I was with you until you said “BUT”.
In “our society” people kill for paper with presidents on them, jewelry, land etc more so than they kill for actual sneakers.
You really don’t know what everyone’s “priority list” is until you ask them.
Also sneakers are “property” and if you own enough they can become a “business”.
I’m just speaking as a man who is married, is a father, owns a home, runs his own business and is a SNEAKERHEAD.

Hey guys – how do you feel about seeing more fashion/sneaker posts on here? We’re looking to expand the site in 2013, and I’m just wondering if you wanna see more of these kind of posts.

i brought this up ages ago , but i’d love to see a forum. i think at this point this blog should consist of all things urban pop culture , or just pop culture as a whole. i want the ability to start a random thread and communicate with other readers. also , a chat room 2000-2002 aol style. i use to love to talk about hiphop in the music room with other users instantly. music , movies ,tv , fashion , video games , ect. would be cool to talk about with strangers.

ah haaa…hmm. so something more comprehensive than just the comment section. I think there is some kind of format that used in comment sections and across other sites…I forget what that’s called. I’ll look for more on this! Thank you for the feedback.

I say YES also as long as its tasteful. I don’t suggest posting release dates of every shoe but post fashion that matters and that is changing the game like the past 3 posts.
