Excerpt after the jump….
In the beginning of the Budden’s diss track “Pain In My Life” he says “It’s called Slaughterhouse for a reason.” XXL asked Ortiz if being a member of the group – which also consists of Royce Da 5’ 9” and Crooked I – means that he has the New Jersey rapper’s back in a lyrical war against Sai. “Absolutely not,” he replied. “First off let me say Saigon is my man, you understand,” he continued. “This is somebody that I came up with on the underground circuit together. We’ve bumped heads at S.O.B.’s plenty of times. So first, I have no problem with Saigon. Joe Budden is Joe Budden. You know what Joe Budden do. He does that kind of stuff. But I have nothing to do with that kind of stuff. I don’t co-sign it; I don’t disagree with it; it’s just what Joe Budden does.”
Asked if he’d try to play peacemaker and bring the two feuding MCs together Ortiz “doesn’t think so.” “Its like the streets,” he explained. “You got your man and he’s fighting your other man and you come in between, a nigga could hit you, understand? I just let niggas do what they do. t’ll be what it be. Maybe they’ll shake hands after this, maybe they won’t.”

I love Joel Ortiz and I’m mad at Dre. for not putting this dude out. I really can’t wait til he puts out a project because to me I just really respect his work ethic.
Now if we can just get Papoose to put out some work.

Word. Dre fumbled that one. He woulda been the perfect compliment to Ortiz. He coulda brought lyrics back to hip hop single handedly.

I swear for god out of all the “freshmen” in hip-hop for 08′-09′, Joell seems the most the most primed to blow up and be a heavyweight in the game. All he needs is a inch and he’ll take that mile.

Joell is toooo lyrical. He’s a beast. Hear all the slaughterhouse stuff he’s winning every time. Joe Budden is crazy lyrical too. But if I was Joell; I’d be pissed off at these two lames sitting there looking and acting all lazy; when Joell is hyped. Why they turn up to show there lyricism and just do nothing….?

I’m wondering why Crooked I isn’t there. I know he’s in NY this week.

I agree with the person who said out of all the new rappers the game has to offer…joel is the best….I seen him do the festival at summerjam couple yrs ago when we had that monsoon…he has good stage presence…I wish him the best..and hopefully one of the current heavy weights in the game will aid and give him a push to that next level…
