Tanya: Growing up in Canada, British retail giants HMV became our hub for previewing and copping newly-released CDs. Its multi-level design featured an overwhelming library of music, with headphones at the end of every aisle to test-drive each of your selections. Their progressive and innovated approach to selling albums always  made them stiff competition for fellow record chains.

So you can imagine this was a little baffling to me: HMV has reportedly attached “This Man Beats Women” labels on Chris Brown‘s new album Fortune. While it’s unclear if it’s the doing of the company, reports have also pointed the finger at individual anti-domestic-violence activists. But despite the controversial warning label, Breezy’s fifth album debuted at number one on both the US and UK charts.
