Self-Destruction 2009, the Chicago version
Posted by Miss Info under good for humanity , life beyond rap , new music , not good for hip hop[14] Comments
if you’ve been reading about this past year’s heartbreaking epidemic of violence in my old hometown Chicago, then you realize that this 2009 Chicago version of “Self-Destruction” is very timely and much needed. Too bad, as songs go, its…um….not very good.
featuring Syleena Johnson, KRS-One, Twista, Crucial Conflict, Phil G, Straw, Pugs, Kenny Bogus…

I thought, “c’mon, how bad can it be? Syleena can sing. KRS should be the best at this, Twista should atleast sound good even to those who can’t understand him. Crucial Conflict should bring some “middle of the barn” energy.
I was wrong.
This song is self destruction.
I say redo. I’ll contribute

That’s a goddamn shame…to think that Kenny B (ogus), Twista, Pugz Atoms and ‘em are among my all time Chitown faves (let’s not get into my whole Molemen, Rubberoom, Thawfor, Juice, All Natural, Primeridian fixation during the Backpack Era). I’m in shock and awe at what I just heard, dayum.

I think you guys are being over-critical. I was about to go out tonight and do some gangsta shit but then I listened to this song and changed my mind. Now I’m just gonna stay in and relax.

Its not that bad, not earth shattering but its not Souljaboy bad. The hook could be a bit stronger. Didnt they do this last year as well but change up the original title to Self Construction?

The song is great! This song is greatly needed for Chicago right now because the senseless violence has to stop! Thank you. Im happy that my favorite artist is featured on the song…Syleena Johnson! I just got her new album Chapter 4: Labor Pains from itunes and its off the chain! Support R&B’s Best Kept Secret and cop that album!

@This guy is a hater:
First off, I’m not a hater. I stated that I’m a FAN of all of those Chicago artists mentioned. I was rockin’ Figure Uv Speech, Grav, Tung Twista and Common Sense joints straight from the Chi from WAY BACK. I remember when Kanye got his first placement! I’m also from Boston so I’m not a “Chi-Town crab in a barrel” as you erroneously stated.
Lastly, My name is DART ADAMS. Google me goddamn it:
